Plus having 8 days off when you are riding that kind of streak hopefully will freeze their bats.

Again I say that they had 5 days off between NLDS and NLCS, and we swept the NLCS.

This is BS and they really needed to sell them at box office locations and not online at all. Let the real fans and hardcore scalpers have their tickets first and do away with this online crap where no normal person can get through.

Yeah this is crap. It says don't refresh, but then the connection times out and then what? Do you have to go back to the end of the line again?

How long have you been a Rockies fan, 3 months? It took me a couple of years for me to switch allegences from the A's to the Red Sox after I moved to Boston and I got into the Red Sox because they are part of the social fabric here in Boston, more so than any team in the Bay Area. I still have a hard time rooting for the Sox over the A's unless the Sox are playing for a title and the A's aren't.

The A's are still a team of mine, but I have enjoyed watching the Rox all year.

Someone give me some good reasons to root for the rockies.

I enjoy watching the sox play, but wouldn't say I'm a sox fan. I also have no idea who's on the rockies. Anyone of them overcome cancer or leukemia, or was dyslexic as a child or something, or maybe who's grandmother is still in the hospital for saving a child's life in a fire? Anything, I need some reasons because rooting for the state of colorado just isn't going to do it on merits alone for me.

Looks like they won 14 more games (90-73 vs. 76-86.) Nice, but will definitely need more than that.

Congratulations, it has been 8 days and they haven't faced a lineup that has had anywhere as powerful as the Red Sox. We'll see.

EDIT: After living in CO during this run, it's sad to see how many bandwagon fans there are in Colorado.

I moved out here last year...and I didn't watch them a whole lot before, but I've truly enjoyed watching them - and they've made a fan of me this year - and not just a bandwagon fan either. I went to several games and enjoyed it. So not the oldest fan, no, but still a fan. I will root for them next year even if they suck. They are a classy group of guys and that's a big part of why I like them.

The team together decided to donate an entire share from the post season to the wife of their minor league 1B coach who got hit and killed. They've really supported that guys widow and that's just awesome.

GO ROCKIES!

i can't wait to see how poorly fox covers the WS games. they're known for blowning off the first pitch of an inning for commercials. boston fans know exactly how retarded kevin kennedy is (letting jose canseco detonate his shoulder on the pitcher's mound) and the dumb broad is worthless as a sports journalist (i rate her at 4 beers, at best).

stephen king scored the grandest of slams during a mid-game interview in his seat. he was reading a HUGE book. when asked about it, he said, "well, i have a lot more time to read now that fox carries the games, there's a lot more commercials." zing! btw, king is looking 100x better than just a couple years ago.

Another thing you gotta like is that the Rockies have built a team like they used to be built. They don't throw money around. They have built very much from within, and gone out to get some positions that need to be filled (pitching mainly), and we even have a couple really awesome pitchers (Ubaldo Jiminez and Franklin Morales) who come from within, are very young and have awesome stuff. I don't think Morales will be on the starter roster for the WS - he was a little jittery last postseason start...but this is his first MLB year, and to go to the WS your first year is nuts.

Jiminez and Morales faced anemic National League lineups. Let's see what happens when they can't make mistakes.

If the World Series Championship was based on victories per dollar then you might have a point. But since it is not then this is really irrelevant.

BTW I do think baseball needs a salary cap in the $100-120 million range. The fact that the Red Sox and Yankees spend so much more than anyone else is not good for the game.

The Yankees spend more than the Red Sox and Rockies combined, sad.

And if the Sox aren't willing to give him a decent contract, it is quite likely another team will be willing to throw a couple dollars his way.

don't worry, whoever wins ANY championship will immediately dump half the team. that's the nature of pro sports in today's world.

LOL Eric Byrnes is a pro. I'm sure the last thing he wants to talk about is the Rockies in the World Series but there he is. Seems like a good guy.

Hopefully the weather won't be a problem tonight. They said rain could be coming in by the 5th inning.
