2008 Ford Focus sedan and coupe announced - Updated
Ford has announced a new Focus featuring a major exterior and interior design and technical overhaul. The 2008 model also marks the addition of a two-door coupe variant. It features a completely revised exterior, with more agressive styling. It also boasts a redesigned cabin with silver metallic finishing on the dashboard and center console, available ambient interior lighting, and available leather seating with contrast stitching.

Also offered with FordSync, the new Focus promises to serve as a "second home on wheels." Suspension and chassis refinements improve ride and handling. Improved sealing and sound deadening are used to enhance audio performance and reduce road noise.

The 2008 Focus offers a 2.0-liter, Duratec 20 dual-overhead-cam, inline four-cylinder engine delivering an estimated 136 hp. The new engine also offers improved air intake system, cooling and exhaust system are designed to improve the smoothness, efficiency, and response of the powertrain. The new engine also brings a variant which qualifies in states adopting California emission standards that qualifies Focus as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle when using the Duratec 20E engine. a great departure from the first gen. it became a mini Fusion.

the exterior looks bland (just like the new Corolla), but the interior is whao (just like the new Corolla).

MUCH better, steering wheel looks like it's from 95 though. Could it be that ford is starting to get it's act together?

Now, all they need to do is not screw up the Mustang and bring the Falcon over here.

Why does Ford have the most horrible looking rims on all their cars? Are they trying to corner the market on horrible looking rims?

I always have hated their logo. The rest of the car may look all good then bam. A plain unsymmetrical logo.

I think this new thing looks like crap. The Mazda 3 is leaps and bounds nicer. It does have a Volvo-looking interior though.

Now with radio and AC all built into the dash you can switch to an aftermarket radio without replacing the center panel. Also f anything breaks half of the dash has to be removed.

It only took 8 years of people replacing the intake and exhaust on focus DOHC for Ford to step up and realize that the same stock crap for the standard focus engine is not good enough for the other models (SVT excluded). I wonder what it looks like under the hood.

I am sure Ford doesn't mind if you buy a Mazda3 over the Focus, seeing how it owns a huge chunk of Mazda.

Haha is that what they call it there, the focus XR5... for those that know, is the focus the same car in england aswell as the US? or is it different?
