I've never been tickled by the Mustand brand. Don't know why. The new Challenger stokes my nuts big time.

It looks cool and it will perform well for the money, but those stangs are just to heavy. And the bumps in power and torque won't mean too much at all in the performance dept.

20 in rims, not digging that.

It will probably be priced near the Z06's price, dunno about that either.

I sure hope not, because the Z06 is in a league way beyond the mustang.

New Cobras own the old ones in every way imaginable. I love old musclecars but todays new musclecars are much better... and they don't leave oil stains on your driveway.

I didn't make a judgment on which one was better, I merely said that I prefer the old ones. I am quite aware of the capability of newer muscle car as I have modified quite a few. Why do you think my 66 Fastback is a not a restoration as it has EFI and 5 speed and many other modern features.

If you want to really talk about COBRAS then the original 1967 AC Cobra with the 427 is still hard to beat with a new car performance car. I don't know many cars that can go 0-100-0 in 13 seconds.

Cheapest car I am aware of is the Caterham R500 Evo which does 0-100-0 in 10.7s. Then comes the Ariel and the Ultima GTR which is the current record holder at 9.4 seconds. For reference, the mighty Veyron does it in 9.9s.

So 0-100mph, the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish S (my all-time favorite car) would be on par with the Veyron? Sick!

Aston Martin V12 Vanqish S

Um, no it wouldn't it would be on par with the Veyron's 0-100-0 time, which takes into account the halting of 4200lbs, I think my Corolla can out brake the Veyron.

I'm surprised no one has complained about the links being the same...and not linking to the pictures.

The site must not allow direct linking to photos. For example, this won't work but this will. Both point to the same picture. Once the photo is in your cache both links work fine.

No...the veyron is 0-100-0 in 9.9

Oh sh!t! That's really REALLY sick! I hope no one eats before trying to prove that time. I knew there had to be something I was missing... ~$225,000 car versus 1.2 million...

BTW it will not have 20 inch wheels...that is just the show car.

orly?

Of course it will have FR500's.

you are a lucky man

edit: why didnt you pull the trigger on a shelbygt500 when they debuted, then? i know the stealership markup was insane.. but wont this suffer just as much, if not worse?

So essentially they got a custom tune and added a CAI to produce 540HP? That's sick. People... don't feel the pressure to lay down $90k+ just to have a cobra/SVT badge on your car. Buy a stock GT and mod from there. Yes SVT, Shelby, etc. make nice mods but so can you.

With bolt ons you can probably add 40 HP to the stock GT. With a supercharger, probably close to 500 HP, but you'll also need to replace quite a few things and probably get some forged internals. So you can probably get 500 HP for GT base price + $10k if you install everything yourself. I paid around $30k for my fully upgraded GT, so $40k total would give me something similar to the performance of a Shelby, minus the appearance mods.

I did not pull the trigger because I was waiting for the release of the Boss 302 in 2009, but alas they canceled the plans for it, and are putting the engine in later cars.
