Do you think they are just cutting their losses, or are markups on these big trucks and suvs so high that they at least break even or even still make money on a sale?
Makes sense. They lose money on it every day it sits on the lot. Can't they just send the cars back to the manufacturer though ?
If the dealer can't sell it are they stuck with it ?

When I bought my '05 Frontier LE the sticker price was $26,400. I got it for $1000 under invoice which I believe was around $23,000. That was 3 years ago when gas prices were $2.12 gallon.
Gas here is now $3.89 but has been as high as $4.09. My city average is 17.5mpg and with a 21 gallon tank it's not cheap to fill up. About $75. I love the truck to death and it's been great. Perfect for what I need it for. But with current gas prices it is a little impractical. Lucky I live about 2 miles from work and my wife has a '07 Civic that we drive whenever we go somewhere together.
I'm just glad I didn't buy a dodge that gets 11-12mpg.

A little impractical? Assuming you ONLY drive your truck to/from work you should last two months on a single tank of gas. Even if you do grocery shopping once a week you should still last a month on a full tank.

Dude, if that was for 350zs, I'd be driving up there right now.

I can't imagine anyone driving 2 miles to work complaining about gas prices even if it hits $10/gallon.
My commute is only 16 miles each way @ $9.42 per gallon, but this week it's dropped to $9.17 - that's in Holland by the way
It's below $10 a gallon but I'm still not happy!!!
