2008: The Year Movies Come Back?

2008 looks like the most promising year for movies I like since 1989. The last few years have been really bad for movies, each year had one or two good flicks and a lot of crap. This year looks like it could have several good movies.

Thoughts?

However, I really looking forward to Star Trek and Cloverfield.

These are the only 2 from your list I will pay to see in the theater... but there are other movies that look good, such as Cloverfield.

No, but I know what I like, and basically everything has been done before, there are no more original ideas.

No, but I know what I like, and basically everything has been done before, there are no more original ideas.

most of 08 is going to be fine, a few projects were kicked to 09

if the strike continues into the middle of this year 09 is going to be bad
most studios are corporate owned in conjunction with tv so there won't be many interm contracts being made

With the way 2008 started with crap flicks like "A Missed Call", I wouldn't say to keep your hopes up high for the rest of the year. We all thought how awesome Spiderman3 was going to be, and look how it turned out....

I think 2008 is going to go down as the greatest year in my life, and the awesome movies are going to be a part of that!

I'm turning 30 this year, which makes me a Gen Xer who grew with WITHOUT THE INTERNET, and who grew up a kid who loved movies and just about everything to do with the 80's. This will be the year I get married, and goddammit, I'm going to love Indy, RAMBO, and Star Trek.

LOL, it will be a miracle if Green Bay wins the NFC.... never mind beating any AFC team in superbowl. All AFC teams that even made the playoffs could beat the top NFC team/s.
