2008 was the year man-made global warming was disproved

The Telegraph is rediculously conservative (think Fox News) and one year does not disprove a trend. Plus, how hot was 2008 compared to other years (not just the previous ones)?

Yes. We know. The definition of a conservative news agency is that they put up stories about how global warming in not true. The more they say that global warming may not be true, the more conservative they are. And we can't trust conservatives. Conservatives want to rape your daughters and eat your sons.

Because you pointed that out, the rest of your post is completely irrelevant.

well, we only have the previous ones to compare it to. Which ones did you want us to use?

i love when people say that just because it's cold, global warming doesn't exist. global warming can cause global cooling because of its effects on the ocean currents. didn't you people watch the day after tomorrow?

Despite the chest-beating to the contrary, much of this forum is anti-science in general. You should see the response to my recent chiropractic thread. People around here tend to think that their gut instinct trumps science.

I think of it more as total climate change than just global warming.

I mean we just went through one of craziest snowfalls I've ever experienced here, but does that disprove global warming? No, it just means the overall climate is wonky, at least in my opinion.

WTF LOL They really think chiropractic is real? It's no better than a massage.

ANYWAY! Global Warming could be a true threat. Whether you like to believe it is real or not, you should conserve energy anyway! No reason to waste so much fuckin' energy, yah know? I think it's proven that all the shit put in the air by coal power plants is bad. May not WARM us up, but it may fuck you up with acid rain, yah know that shit? Yeah, that's bad!

What? God you really ARE a noob. These forums are anything BUT anti-science. Most of the people in here are great and math and science, and are pretty good at keeping up with the science world. Sure there are a few rare ones that don't believe the science side, but the gross majority of AT like the cold provable facts of science.

You really have no fucking clue what's going on around these parts do you GA?

Actually I've been a member here since 7/25/2004, only a week after you joined. I know that people here claim to believe in science, which is why I qualified my post with "[d]espite the chest-beating to the contrary[...]". And this doesn't apply to all members, not even most members, which is why I used the term "much". So get your panties out of a bunch and try to comprehend my posts before you respond.

You're using the day after tomorrow as support in a scientific thread?

I second this. Most people here, despite the elitism, are fairly intelligent. The forum is anything but anti-science.

I also agree regarding most members, but there is a large anti-science contingent on this forum.
