Mild tempered? LOL, Rambis was the Lakers' hatchet man, Riley usually brought him in to drop the hammer on somebody.Originally posted by: QueBert

Crazy playoffs so far. Really unpredictable...and kinda violent!
Violent? This is like pre-school scuffles over a pacifier compared to even the 80s and early 90s. Back then, fighting was just a technical and pretty much expected in the playoffs.
Like this?
THAT SON OF A BITCH MCHALE! To clothline Rambus like that was just a dickhead move. You saw Kurt get up and try to beat some ass after wards. I always remember Kurt as being very mild tempered.
BTW Rambus and the whole 80's Lakers squad OWN.

My finals prediction: Cavs vs Nuggets. Cavs in 7.

I know poor Starbury. First collecting 20 mil from the Knicks for doing nothing, then a prorated deal from the Celtics for doing only a little bit of more work.
poor starbury.

Oh, and LOL @ Ron Artest. He can now go back into obscurity.
Shane Battier is a class act and a great defender. I would be glad to have him on my home-team any day.

because he tries so hard to present a clean cut image when he does scummy things (i.e. gets in cheap shots, cheats on his wife, etc.)

Why's Kobe a scum bag?
Dirty player, yet whines incessantly
History of blaming teammates when things don't go well, rather than try to help them improve
Helped to orchestrate Shaq's departure from LA...
... and then a couple years later demanded to be traded
Cheats on his wife
When he came into the league, showed much disrespect to established stars

I wouldnt go so far as saying Kobe is a scum bag. I dont like Kobe as much as the next guy, but the main reasons are because of his arrogance. Being arrogant does not mean you are a scumbag. He obviously has reasons to be so cocky. He is one of the best players to ever play basketball. These reasons are also why he will never be thought of as the best baller of all time (besides the crazies in LA)

When assessing a baller, I try to put the personal stuff aside, unless it intrudes on the team's performance.
The aspect of Kobe's behavior that disturbs me the most is the fact that he fragmented his team when Shaq was there. Of course, Shaq was guilty, too - IMO, Shaq is an egotistical buffoon. But Kobe was so bad that Phil Jackson stated he was "uncoachable". When Kobe wasn't getting the teammates he wanted, he demanded a trade. It seems like Kobe had little interest in drawing out his teammates abilities.
Kobe isn't anywhere near the discussion of "best baller of all time". He's not even the best SG in the history of his own team; that would be "The Logo", Jerry West.

I think you're talking about the old Kobe and not the emerging one. Did you see yesterday's game? He only scored 14 points, however, that didn't stop the chemistry of the bi-polar Lakers to maintain a lead throughout the entire game versus Houston yesterday.
