My only question - why the F was JJ Reddick running the show for the Magic during that crucial 2 or 3 minute stretch?

They really deserve to lose on that count alone.

after all the hype about the huge defeat in game one and how the series was over, how could the magic not come out and play well (or better, at least)? the magic will play better at home, but the lakers will win one game in orlando. orlando really needs to step up their performance to get this series back on track.

and dwight howard needs some dunks

and i wasn't too impressed with kobe's performance. he missed some shots that could have extended the lead, but just ended up being poor shots. plus hedo blocked that weak shot attempt from behind. kobe also seems hesitant from beyond the arc. he didn't attempt a 3 in the first game and was only 1-4 tonight. haven't really seen him pull up for that smooth 3-pointer. lamar had some lucky makes early on and had the jumper working. he really came up big. i don't think he will play like that in orlando...maybe in one game, but not both.

There will be three consecutive games in Orlando, so I'm sure the Lakers will win at least one.

Lakers in 6 in the most likely result.

this. Magic executed well, even on that play. Unlucky that one of howard's deflections went to Gasol and that lee missed that alley oop.

Anybody feel that any complaints about Gasol touching the net/rim at the end of regulation is basically a moot point after Howard's no-call goaltending early in the first quarter (the one where he blocked Gasol by going up through the rim)?

ya that's what i thought too. Touching the rim is goal tending, but, donno, the argument is that the rim didn't even move or anything, making it look almost "unintentional" or something. IT didn't alter the ball's trajectory in any fashion, and the ball clearly had no chance of going in anyways...

However, both calls should've been called goaltending by the book.

There were also questionable calls: Like whe the Magic lost the ball, but non of the lakers actually touched it, and when Dwight was called for a foul when his ball just slipped out of his hands.

Messy game overall though, and LOL @ the timewarp mania in this thread,ahahahaha

I got so pissed off at the ESPN commentators I just shut off the audio a lot of the time. In general, I can't stand announcing on ESPN broadcasts. Too bad ABC just broadcasts ESPN.

Why do they never call traveling? In college ball they call it all the time. I haven't seen one traveling call in watching ~4 playoff games. :roll: I did see traveling last night.

That was a mistake... but, he did hit the FTs. The Lakers were damn lucky. They didn't play nearly as well as Thursday. That alley-oop inbounds pass with 0.6 seconds to play should have gone down and it would be 1-1. The Lakers went to sleep on that one. That pass to the basket is priority number one to defend. Outside of 10', you have to figure it's probably a long shot with 0.6 left.

Here are some of my favorite parts:
3:08: Pietrus fouls out for an alleged touch foul on Kobe's jumper that was so awful, ABC decided against showing a replay. Classic. Hey, good news: I got Subway to sponsor our SDFCT Scoreboard! Orlando 3, L.A. 1.
- I cant believe they didn't show that replay.

3:16: You know, I would have been fine with the offensive push-off foul on Hedo that just happened if Trevor Ariza hadn't been clubbing him all the way up and down the court. You can't "let 'em play" and then call touch fouls and slight push offs. You just can't. Our SDFCT Scoreboard: Orlando 3, L.A. 1.
- I love how they call the foul after the 6th time down the court when Ariza was just raping Hedo. It was pathetic. They could have stopped it the first time he did it, instead they decide to call it when its a completely moot point.

Oh dude give me a break. I know you are a lakers fan but you HAVE to admit that they got 90% of the calls toward the end of the 4th qtr and in overtime. Ariza raped hedo for a good 4 - 5 minutes and then they finally called it when it didnt matter. Pathetic.
