More official now that TSCC is cancelled. Bullshit. I gave Dollhouse 3 chances, and it sucked, yet they keep that rolling (I loved Buffy, Angel & Firefly, so nothing against Whedon, this is just turd).

It also probably hasn't hurt that star Zachary Levi has been a team player for NBC, appearing in the network's PSA campaigns, marketing promotions and events.

Here's Chuck's 18-49 ratings for the season, with the final number having gone up a tenth in the nationals since this chart was created. As you can see, for all the woes about the show's ratings, it actually performed fairly steady, dropping only slightly in midseason.

ugh. T:SCC being canceled is disappointing, but I'm really bummed about Reaper going away. I can't believe CW would keep Smallville (which after 7 years must have a huge salary expense) and lose Reaper.

Yeah, in a way I think that 13 episodes may not be enough and just end up hurting the show if it can't be allowed to "spread its wings."

13 episodes is a pretty common ploy for shows that are on the bubble. The network commits less money up front and gives the show a chance to earn a full season. If the ratings warrant it they'll order another 10-12 episodes and if the ratings don't improve and it gets croaked mid-season to be replaced by something else. It's better than canceling it entirely.

Yep. Every episode of Dollhouse I saw was mindless, ridiculous idiocy and terrible, terrible acting. I watched the first 2, then I think the 5th or 6th episode (I think everyone here said it was great; and it was just as bad as when it started).

I just don't get it. I think maybe Fox actually recognized the nerd flak they got for canceling Firefly, and decided to give this one its unfair chance just b/c of name-recognition.

I never watched Firefly, but I thought Serenity was OK. based on that, I can see where Firefly probably did have potential. I don't dislike Whedon or anything, but I don't understand the "he can do no wrong" mentality. Dollhouse strikes me as a clear example that he can. ...and I've ALWAYS been able to tolerate Dusku's lack of talent and overall vapidness just to watch her

I think dollhouse has actually gotten a lot better. I mean I still think TTSCC>>Dollhouse but the last couple episodes were amazing in both shows. TTSCC has always been a lot more deep in its exploration of the characters. I always thought dollhouse was more of an action type show with twisted plots and just enjoy the ride.

I think the whole losing her boobs thing forced them to give the show another try, it would have looked bad to cancel it.. Despite pretty good reviews and some decent epi's the firs season, it looks like network didn't even try to publicize it this year.

A lot of shows are like that and go on to do well. Xena: Warrior Princess :heart: comes to mind. Sometimes people just want to be entertained and have a little eye candy. The only reason I watch Dollhouse is for Dushku's tight little body. It's the same reason I watched Tru Calling.

If I want something deep I'll go read a book.

Excellent, I'm happy that Dollhouse is coming back and shocked that TSCC is canceled. The only reason I can think of for that is difference in production costs. Amazingly enough Nathan Fillion is getting his first ever second season (Castle was renewed) and while I love the show the premise isn't really set up to run long term. Heroes needs to die.
