Bestbuy shows them @ $359.99 on their website. I smell a nice pm possibliity on this one. Since BB has no rebate they should sell this out the door for $182.92 before tax. 110% of $160.99 price diff is $359-$177.08(pm)= $182.92+tax Would they include the rebate amount in the pm? Does anybody think this will work?

sleefer: in short, no way.

rebate is microcenter specific, and bbuy is not going to pm it.

I thought if they did if it was a store specific rebate. The rebate is only good at MicroCenter, so wouldn't BB have to honor the amount since they don't offer one?

no, they specifically dont offer after-rebate prices.

but if you get them to do it, scan the receipt for us.

wasted my lunch at best buy. Bought the WD 200GB 8MB at BB 1/11 for $315 ($349.99 - 10% off coupon). So the lady (chick) says she needs a phone #. So I had to use friend's cell to call someone at work to look up microcenter.com. She called and comes back saying
"The guy said they're online only"
I says "Yeah but they're a Brick and Mortar too just like Bestbuy.com and compusa.com online but also B&M. Plus when you checkout it asks you for In Store Picking, Standard shipping, two day shipping, etc."
She says "He said that means they'll ship it too any store and you can pick it up there."

Good gawd...guess I'll be picking up my 200GB from microcenter from McDonald's or Jack-in-the-box. Anyway I printed out the Tustin, CA store and going back after work and talking to a manager. Bunch of crap. All for $55 or so. If they still refuse I gonna buy the $199 compusa 200GB and talking this back to bestbuy those @%@%%@.

Okay, called BB and told CSR that my wife purchased the drive for $349 and that MicroCenter has it for $264- $65 rebate. CSR said they will do pricematch to selling price from MicroCenter $264. I asked him about the $65 rebate and he said if it is through Western Digital they will either give me a $65 rebate form or refund the $65 also. He said they do not match store rebates, but if it is from Western Digital they would. Now, the MicroCenter rebate form specifically says "receive $65 via mail from Western Digital" right on it so I see no way that they can say this is a MicroCenter rebate and not manufacturer one.

Don't you people know there's a $100 rebate on this HDD flowing? ;-)

Go online and search for it, for those who trying to get the rebate $ refund also. $100 is always better than $65, rite?

Man, which BB did you go to? i've had no luck PM'ing at any around here. I live in the same area, all the managers are !#*(%
Does circuit city have the drive? they're very no hassle about price matching. The one in tustin is especially cool.

I don't see how they would when we have a $90 rebate from bestbuy on this drive. I'd rather have them PM 110% to $315 - $265 = $50 difference than PM 110% to ($315 - $90) $225 - $199 = $25 difference. I ain't gonna push my luck.

I just picked up the drive at Microcenter.

Tomorrow, I'm going to CC to see if they'll PM the price+rebate. They don't have the drive listed on their webpage, but I've seen it in some CCs before. Hopefully within the next month, they'll have a rebate on it

BB pricematched MC + 10% off the difference for me but no luck on the rebate. I politely argued my way to the top but to no avail. So net was $255 + tax for me.

If you're in California get loaded up on goodies before new taxation- Davis's new bill will raise Santa Clara County sales tax to the highest in the country, 9.5%. =O

I need to move away from here.

mrbass- That $90 rebate from BB your referring to expired on the 11th if you look at the form. So, unless there's one not listed that started after it ended, there is no rebate .

EDIT: I'm talking about buying one now.

oh yeah your right. I bought the bestbuy one at 1/11 the day the rebate expired. Anyway just got back from hell (BestBuy). Spoke to manager and little kid for like 40 mins. No luck. He said they only PM stores within 20 miles. Irvine was about 60 miles or so. Also he said the print out of the webpage couldn't prove $264 was the price BEFORE or AFTER the $65 rebate. I said that's ridiculous just call them. He said $264 was below their cost and they'd lose money. Anyway I'm taking back that piece of crap and they can eat it. I picked myself up the Maxtor 200GB 8MB cache 7200rpm for $299.99 -$100 rebate at compusa. They had about 4 or 5 left on the shelf. Hmmm sounds like no one knows about this COMPUSA DEAL. As soon as I copy my data over I'll bring it back to them. Morally of the story, screw PM, it never works for me at least. And also avoid Best Buy like the plague...more like Worse Buy. Oh yeah Davis is evil...I would say stuff but I won't for possibly incriminating myself.

Yeah, but Circuit City might. Besides, it might be best to just buy the drive from Best Buy, then head back to customer service with the flyer in hand. They've looked at ads before and price-matched the final price (the after rebate price.) Your mileage definately varies with this, but it's worth a try.

I tried the PNY DDR deal at that BB store the manager told me the exact same thing. The way I see it, cost isn't even a local store manager's concern. What really pisses me off is that they seem to change the store policy to fit their needs when it's convenient. He was so snide about it too, he looked at the ad and just said "nope, i won't do that, it's below cost." I had an Xbox on the counter at the same time, and I just left it and the memory on the counter and left. His attitude problem screwed his store out of a $300 dollar total sale. Oh well. CC in tustin has never given me a problem, they even gave me the rebate forms after the PM. BTW if managers try to give you crap about PM + rebates, tell them that rebates have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. They do NOT come out of the retail chain's own pocket for the most part. Usually they are reimbursed by the manufacturer. Either way it shouldn't count in your bottom line.
