Seems like a good deal, even tho it says SATA 300, and it lists the Data Transfer Rate: Buffer to Host - Up to 150MBps.

There is no such thing as Sata II: http://www.sata-io.org/namingguidelines.asp

I liked the sata 150 and sata 300 because they were more accurate, sata 1.5Gbs and sata 3.0Gbs are market names. I'm tired of companies using bogus numbers.

Since no hard drive can actually hit 300 MB even in burst speed SATA 300 ports are safe for quite awhile.

Just hit the new store that opened on Rt 20 in northern NJ. Wow, is that a nice store and a computer lovers paradise.

Anyway, picked up my free 2 GB Kingston flash drive. Gotta love free. If you didn't get a coupon for a freebie, they are selling them for 11 bucks which is still a good deal.

Also got my free coffee mug on the way out. Actually, I got two becasue I went in and out twice. Also, picked up the hard drive and some assorted cables as well.
Lots of good deals scattered around the store.

Who knows and who cares - I just hope people standardize on one to make it easier... as for the description, I think I just copy/pasted.

Was the SATA cable included?
I cant seem to find in the info if one is included.
The description for the 160 and 320 RTL say the cable is included.

Do I need to order cables also?

Yes cable included and its a really good setup cause WD uses an extra square shaped connector that also goes into the HD so its really secure.

I got a coupon from Microcenter too for a 2gb Flash drive or 2GB SD Card.

I'll most likely go with the One of each.

I'll take my brother

i'll probably pick up 2 200GB drives as well for my new build

That's not true. SATA II was a set of recommended features, which were integrated with varying degrees in new SATA drives by manufacturers. They changed the name of the specification to SATA-IO now, but to me the usage is still valid concidering there's no difference in practice.

We can argue the difference between a committee and a specification they suggest, but the net result is that the specification is going to be called by the name of the committee if they don't provide a clearer distinction. They changed their name relatively recently and haven't changed their specification so it's understandable people would still refer to that set of specifications as SATA II.
