So my heater hose assembly (y shaped part) sprung a leak on me. I'm struggling to get the old one off (it's got those stupid squeezy clamps). I was able to get the one end off the thermostat housing but the back ones are a pain in the butt to reach with my hose clamp pliers. I'm wondering if I really need to remove the other two hoses completely or if I can just cut them off past the leaking part of the one house and connect them to the new Y connector. I'm guessing I should do it right and just replace it all but my hands hurt

Here is the part I'm talking about:

TIA!

You should really try to replace it all. If the old stuff isn't leaking yet it will. Might as well get it all done with at once.

Find someone with smaller hands?

Hah time to utilize the children . Are there any other tricks to remove the hoses?

Just longer-handled hose-clamp-pliers, a different style of pliers (maybe those duck-bill ones) time, and cautious precision.

If you've/you're got/using replacement clamps, you could probably cut the old clamps off, or otherwise "creatively disassemble" them.

This, and if there is something in the way limiting access, remove whatever is in the way (as long as it's not a charged A/C system component).

i've found my saving grace with hose clamps (especially those shitty heater ones) are needlenose locking pliers.

You need a hose clamp plier like this one: ARES 71106 .. it can be found on Amazon and other places .. it runs about $13 .. you might find it locally or your Snap-On / Matco truck may have one like it ... notice this has angled jaws
