2010 Outlook for laptops?

Hi all, I will be doing some travelling outside of the states near October time frame and would like to buy a laptop to bring with me. Currently, I am looking at the 15.6" gaming laptop with 5870 1gb with i7 720QM.

I don't really need the laptop now, but definitely when I am traveling. So my question is - are there any changes later on that would make buying the laptop several months later more beneficial vs now.

I know Nvidia is coming out with the ability to use less power when not needed (I forgot what it's called...Tegra?), but it's not important for me.

You're thinking of Optimus, which is pretty sweet.

No, now that we've seen Optimus, Arrandale, and the Mobility 5000 series, there is nothing major in terms of new technologies coming out.

However, you should always wait until you actually need the part. Prices will be lower at that time, and you won't have to worry about any new technology surprising you.
