2011 Accord Coupe vs. 2011 Civic Si?

Did it fix the problem? I remember people still developed the problem (or it didn't help at all.)

It for sure helped.. It would grind going in and be hard to get into thrid after they replaced it it was much better.

Skip both:

Mustang V6, Camaro V6, or Genesis 2.0T, and at $22K why not look at a MS3 or GTI.

The 2011 Mustang interior is quite nice and you get 31mpg hwy with 300HP and regualr fuel.


I would also consider car insurance- I'm guessing the Accord would be significantly cheaper than the SI.

I think so too, the coupe more so than the sedan. It's not very sporty though, that's for sure.

22k is way to much for that Civic. If you want a roomy, kind-of sporty car, the Accord fits the bill. The Accord has lots of room inside, but it is a BIG coupe.

If you want more sporty, get a GTI. Thats around the same price, and a heck of a deal for the price point. Plus, it also has plenty of room and a nice interior.

I would just forgo the Accord coupe and get the four door. The insurance will be less and the 2 door is just an illusion of the car being sporty.

you really have to decide what you want, and test drive both.

i love my si sedan. and it easily gets 33+mpg on the highway. even in the winter, its 30+. the engine is not for everyone. i haven't had any 3rd gear issues or rattles or visor problems with mine, knock on wood.

sometimes my parents complain about the amount of noise on the highway, which is substantial since you're doing 3500rpm at 70mph, and there isn't much in the way of noise isolation.

my parents have "borrowed" my car for the past 5 weeks...i miss it so much.

in short, the Si really is a love it or hate it car. really interested to see what they do for the 2012 Si.

also, if you decide to go for the civic, see if there are any 2010s still on lots, i doubt much has changed and you may be able to find a deal. i got my 2007 sedan with navi & summer tires for 22k OTD towards the end of 07

I wouldn't pick either one, but if it has to be either the Accord or the Civic, I would would pick the Accord. The Accord feels more solid, no squeak or rattle. I'm surprised as well as how much noise the Civic lets in, road noise, engine noise, and some annoying squeaks and rattles on the interstate. Of course it's just a test drive, maybe it's just one car, but it's brand new.

drive a 2010 accord 4 door and a 2002 civic, so it might not be the fairest comparison but the accord is above and beyond a much more enjoyable ride from a handling perspective, although it's not an SI civic
