Damn shame, the end was going to be a hell of a battle. Too bad they were allowed to work on the cars.

Yeah, I did not understand the point of working on the cars. If you can get new tires and bodywork on.. what is the point?

wow, that finish left me with more questions than answers. i've never heard of f1 restarting a race after such a late red flag. and to let them work on the cars just blows my mind!

lewis "is it because i'm black?" hamilton is an enormous piece of crap, and should have the hammer come down on him for "bringing the sport into disrepute".

Yes, Lewis should have gotten a penalty for cutting the track and for the massa incident, but You are full of crap if you tell me the steward are fair or do their job well. I mean In every single race vettel does about 5 moves to block or push drivers at the start. He has been doing it since last year and they do nothing about it. There are a bunch more incidents I could point out. The slow penalty for lewis in Valencia last year, Vettel crashing into Sutil at silverstone last year. Vettel going off the track to pass button in Aus this year, button being given a penalty for doing the same thing earlier in the race.

I agree, the race thing was completely stupid to say, but I would rather have drivers speak their mind then be the robots that they are now. Senna was always saying stuff like that about the FIA and was hailed as a great for that, whats wrong with doing it now?

no, stewards have rarely done their job well. historically, very rarely. the fia's position is to let them fight at the start so blocking rules are relaxed, but anything more than minor contact is still frowned upon.

They gave Hamilton a token penalty, that amounted to nothing. 20 seconds, when he was the last guy on the lead lap.

I agree with the thought of driver's being PR bots these days. You should have the right to say stupid crap.

Oh, and the whole working on the car during the red flag....wtf?

I was stunned by that as well. I would have loved to see Vettel restart on his old tires. Race strategy was thrown out the window at that point...they might as well have ended the race when they threw the red flag because it was just a 5 lap parade at that point.

Not sure what you're on about with the Hamilton comments though.

Button was robbed and so were the fans. That three way fight before the red was just about to go legendary. Then it was pissed on by new tyres all round. BOO!

Yes Red Bull made an error, and the rules let them get away with it.

Ferrari didn't really make an error, imo, because the tire strategy is what got them into a podium position in the first place, so they did the right thing.

But Red Bull screwed up with their tire strategy and should have paid for it.

I don't pull for McLaren at all, but they were robbed of the chance to win the race, which they had set up beautifully.

Yeah. Basically, Red Bull (Vettel specifically) got lucky.

Not sure what Lewis is bitching about. There were plenty of overtakes in the race without incident. If he's expecting people to just lay down and die when he makes an overtake move, he's dreaming.

I think he expects drivers to react like shumi did when he passed him or how he reacted when shumi passed him at the same spot as mass. Massa was having he's own accident with Webber before Lewis got there.

When the top guys are fighting (Vettel, webber, button, alonso and Lewis) they don't do dumb shit like that, they don't make any contact (Well Vettel doesn't anymore) They give each other room. Those guys in the midfield (With the exception of Cowboyashi) Don't seem to know when to give a place up.

The Maldonado move was wrong, he deserved to be punished for that.

I can't recall.. but did they ever show Vettel's old tires? I wonder if they would have held up for the last 6 or so laps if there wasn't a red..

I thought Lewis punted Massa into Webber.

Lewis had a lot of luck in any case. Under the old rules, he goes back to where he was the lap before. He only got 6th because of that last crash.

Don't think it would have mattered. Alonso and Button would have both gotten by, or there'd have been a crash. They were both considerably faster than Vettel, with Button also faster than Alonso.

Alonso did a great job with his tires to keep them decent, and McLaren had a great strategy to win with Button.

Would Vettel's tires have failed? I don't think so. 4th place was way back and Vettel could have taken it very easy and remained third.

I don't think he could have held off Alonso and Button.

Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles...

I could be remembering wrong, but mass went on the inside of Webber and touched him with he's front wing.
