Does splinter cell conviction come with any DRM other than steam?

They're supposed to tell you on Steams store page for the game, but be wary.
I got Wings of Prey with no knowledge that YuPlay was on top of it.
When I complained to Valve they said "tough shit". A week later the page was updated saying Yuplay was required. But you have to google for Yuplay on your own, and see how god awful it is.

Is the Amazon.com download just an auth to get it from Steam? If so, I will go that route.

The Witcher 2 is not a Steamworks game, so no, if you buy it from Amazon then you will have to download it from there.

Unless you insist on having the game on Steam (which is understandable), Amazon is actually a very good games distributor as well. The site is very easy to use and convenient, and downloading + installing your games is very simple.

Yeah, TW2 was my first purchase from Amazon.. and am pleasantly surprised how easy it is to install. The download speed is pretty good too.. even during these times.

Thanks for the info. I have a lot of games to play so I will patiently wait for a Steam sale that matches Amazon. Right now I need to get through Skyrim, FO:NV, Metro 2033, Mafia 2, Just Cause, Bio Shock 1 and 2 and some console games.

Is Splinter Cell Conviction good? I haven't played much of the Splinter Cell games but I do like them. I heard the stealth aspect wasn't as big but that's fine with me as long as there's a mix of action/run n' gun and stealth.

Though on Gamespot it only got a 6.5 review.

Does anybody have any resources or suggestions for other good deals that aren't daily which would be good to pick up?

Hopefully Terraria will go daily tomorrow. Especially with the Dec 1 patch coming up! I really hope they add achievements.

Was tempted to get F:NV, but I want to wait for a GOTY edition with all the DLC included first. Hoping FO3 GOTY will be on sale tomorrow for better than the current 50%. If not, I can wait for it.

Nothing that I want at all in today's deals.

Got Witcher 2 from Amazon. I'm tempted to get Witcher from Steam for $3 except I promised myself to never buy a DRM'ed game, so I might wait until GOG or Amazon has it for cheap. Worst case I can get it for $10 from GOG at normal price, and the $7 extra would be worth it to me to have a DRM-free copy.

I know that some people like minimalistic, but in some ways... I don't like how Amazon's downloader is that way. It pretty much just downloads an installer and then you install it. I'm not even sure if I can delete the install files afterward. Albeit, this is coming off of only buying one downloadable game (Crysis 2) off Amazon in the past.

I don't think the Amazon downloader supports patching either, which makes Steam rather nice.

Lolz, Civilization V is 10 bucks. Still a little overpriced, but much better.

If you haven't picked up The Witcher 2, go for it. I'd still prefer the GoG version, but to each their own. I understand wanting to keep everything in one place.

So i booted up The Witcher and I am severly disappointed. Combat feels really clunky. I don't mind the older style graphics and animations but the combat system just feels bad. Anyone else feel this way or did you just deal with it?

Yeah, you can delete those files.

When it comes to patching, both have their advantages. Remember when TW2 released steam users had to download a massive ~9 GB.. where as for the rest it was just a 15MB patch file. Either way, it does not bother me.. as modern games are extremely easy to patch.

The Witcher combat is one of those things you either liked or hated, there's not much in between. The game is in the story and characters, not in the combat. Combat is simple enough that you can get into it quickly, but complex enough to need effort to master.

I thought it was pretty fun. Didn't have a problem playing it with the DRM stuff, however when I tried to play co-op with my friend, the FPS would drop to like 2 FPS even though I was getting much higher FPS in SP. No idea what was going on there. I read that it lowers the performance to the worst system and my friend's system is OLD, but he didn't seem to have any issues playing SP so I don't know.

There was plenty of stealth in it.

In for Section 8: Prejudice. I had some friends who bought it when it came out for $15, and they say it's amazing. $3 is probably a pretty damn good deal. Let's just hope there's a decent amount of people still playing online.

Don't they usually go live with one more round of dailies on the "last day" making the day after the real last day (ie: one more round tomorrow)?

kind of a bummer day for me; but if you don't own dragon knight saga - i highly recommend it; the story is tighter than skyrim and it is a bit longer than witcher 2. Pity it got lost in the shuffle but it really is quite good.

For most big sales, yes; they have a final "recap" day. If they do it during this sale, it will probably be tomorrow for Cyber Monday.

so, Divinity II is pretty good? that's the only thing that interests me, though I know nothing about it.

it looks to be one notch above RPG-lite and a bit hack-and-slashy? Sort of what I'm looking for.

I don't recall them ever going past their advertised sale dates, so I would be surprised to see a recap tomorrow.
