You're right, the 27th (today) is the last day of the sale. I thought it went through the 28th with that being Cyber Monday and all.

BTW Impulse has RF: Armageddon for $7.50 vs the $17 on Steam.

i enjoyed it; i think it is two steps above hack and slash but not quite as undirected as bethesda rpg. I'd put it on par with witcher 2; where the direction (player path) is very clear but it is free roaming. The mechanics are a bit better than witcher 2 (I think) but lacks some of witcher 2 elegance.

so, Divinity II is pretty good? that's the only thing that interests me, though I know nothing about it.

it looks to be one notch above RPG-lite and a bit hack-and-slashy? Sort of what I'm looking for.

I really enjoyed Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga. I think it's hugely under-rated, and the expansion you get free is also very well done. A bit slow to start but once you get into the game it's great.

Meh, I'll give it a shot. I both like and loathe the Bethesda games, all because they are too free. Doesn't play well with my game-ADD.

A ton better than fable; fable is a bit corny (so yea it is a bit more seroius) but it also has more diversity in combat and a more interesting world. These things are highly opinionated but I would think divnity is a lot closer to witcher 2 than fable. i actually think it is a much better (tighter) game than skryim; but not nearly as long. Skryim folcus on the world but mechanics (combat) are quite sloppy and story gets dilluted by the fast diversity in side quests. I.e the main plot is dilluted by tons of subplots and sub plots in sub plots. Divninity has a bit less layering (better/worse is a matter of the beholder so I will not say it is better or worse; but the mechanics around combat and similar are much better).

It's a lot like Tribes, with missions and objectives like Battlefield. I like it.

Don't feel like you have to buy it. I'm just frustrated at the lack of players online. It had a short life.

Overall the Steam Autumn sale was pretty blah in my opinion.

I picked up only one game: Overlord and spent a whoping $1.24!

Here's hoping the Holiday Sale will be better.

Played about 1.5hrs of The Witcher and voice acting isn't that great. Not bad but not good. Sometimes it'll go into a cut-scene for just one or two lines of dialogue. Combat is interesting, feels like it'll take some getting used to. I'm going to give this game more time to see if it gets better because of how much praise it got.

Yeah. Exactly.. from Act II things get really interesting. Usually first 3-4 hours are pretty boring.

Are you having issues with the combat being unresponsive or just flat out not working when you left click? I will be spamming my left click and Geralt just does not swing. He just stands around in that stupid looking sword pose he does.

-Stick with it, IT WILL get better. I had a good 2 or 3 false starts with the game, wasn't too into the opening and the first act outside the city was a little tedious. Act 2 onward was a god damn blast. Played more or less straight through (aside from work and sleep) through the rest of the acts.

It does not work that way. You need to time clicks precisely to launch combo attacks. To do that.. you need to keep an eye on the enemy you are targeting.. the icon on your enemy changes to attack mode. You can perform a string of attacks if you click at the precise time.

No before the combo stuff starts. Like when I'm trying to initiate my first attack.
