Even though steam has dead island on sale, its cheaper through amazon download.

Since dead island is a steam works game, you should be able to get the cd key from amazon, and then activate on steam.

Picking up Amnesia, thanks!

Also, if you're a fan of Bioshock, Bioshock 2 is well worth the $5, IMO. Duel-wielding weapon/plasmid attacks should've been in the first one.

Just ordered 4 GB ram as a quick vaccination. I'll feel guilty for spending money on the PC and maybe stay away from the steam sale.

They just lowered the Deadspace pack to $13.59, $3 and change cheaper than before. They also added Pound of Ground as well. Limbo too it seems

How come STALKER Clear Sky never goes on sale? I already have it on CD. Its not really expensive to buy but since I played it already (and liked it) I waited for it to go on sale to buy a Steam version - but it never goes on sale. Maybe because it was a buggy POS when released compared to the others?

It's official. I hate Steam. Such a backlog of games I'll either never play or only play a couple hours of

Seriously, I have 168 games on Steam. I've played 1/4 of them and most of the ones that I have played, I've only played for a couple minutes.

I have a ton of games on Steam as well, not to mention D2D, GreenManGaming, and Impulse Driven. Know what game I'm playing right now...Civ IV...that's right a 6 year old game. All the while I have brand new games and games I've never played just sitting there. And I'm tempted to buy about 3 other games on Steam this weekend. sigh...

I know the feeling all to well. 306 games on Steam and I probably played 1/3 of them a good amount. A lot I haven't even launched. The way I figure it, when I can't afford to buy games I'll have plenty to keep me busy and I buy them so cheap anyways it is hard not to get my money's worth out of them in a short amount of play time. My Steam library probably cost me less then most people spend on lunch in a year.

hahaha sounds like me in a way. I'll get excited and buy some games then go "Ok, time to expand my Roman empire."

Speaking of Civ IV, I just bought the complete version again because I was sick of having the disc version. It's still priced at about $30 after all this time and worth every cent.

Should of waited, the complete version goes on say for like $6.xx during big sales and with 2 big ones coming up soon. But as long as you get use out of it and are happy, who cares

If I have $10 to spend, would it be better spent on:

a) 2 out of the 3: Bioshock 2, Stalker, Call of Priyapat (really enjoyed Bioshock)
or
b) Baldur's Gate 2 complete pack on gog.com for $9.99

Very important to make the best decision, especially with little time to game. It's a crowded boat, haha

Yeah, normally I'd wait. But, Civilization has been one of my main titles for years and I don't care what the cost is. It's a rare title that just keeps giving and giving.

BTW, for those interested in Dead Island, Amazon has it as the download deal of the week. It's $29.99, which is $8 less than Steam right now I believe.

FEAR + expansions are good (I even liked Perseus Mandate for what it was).

FEAR 2 is not god awful, but it's not as good as the first. I was toying with the idea of buying the DLC but decided against it.

I only would recommend FEAR2 if you're a die hard FPS guy and you can't play through them fast enough.

How good are the FEAR games? I might pick up the pack.
First one is pretty good. Story is ok, firefights and AI are pretty sweet from what I remember. I haven't played the second but I got the pack and I'm hoping to find the time to play both.

For less than $7, the FEAR Collection is certainly worth it for those who don't have it (unlike me, who actually owns both Steam and hard copies ), though I think the first plus Extraction Point are all that need to be played. It's a 6-year old game but has aged pretty well. It was the Crysis of its day in how it pushed the hardware. Even bleeding-edge hardware at the time had trouble handling that at 1280x1024 with soft shadows.

Between Penumbra, Limbo, and Amnesia, it'll probably be enough to keep me until the actual holiday sale.

Can someone help me with Zombie Driver? How do you shoot?

I've done the first two missions so I have guns now, but I cant shoot. I push any of the assigned shoot buttons, and it does nothing, just clicks. I can see a machine gun icon at the bottom left. How do you cycle through weapons?

I finally picked up Killing Floor and L4D2, and for less than $17 I can't complain one bit.

Anyone playing killing floor? Is it worth the price?

I'm surprised you haven't played it. Aren't you a fan of L4D2? Killing Floor is a co-op zombie shooter similar to L4D, except less linear, slower-paced, and with much better weapon-feel. There are also different classes with which you can up your skill level.
Zombies appear in "waves", which become progressively more difficult as the game goes on, and between waves you can buy/upgrade weapons with money at the weapon shop. The shop changes locations every time, so it encourages you to move a lot.

It's a little old now, but there are still lots of people who play it, and Tripwire (the same developer of Red Orchestra) still updates and supports it on a regular basis. Fantastic game.
