Thoughts on RAGE for $15?

My thought is that I am going to purchase it when I get home.

Enough mixed reviews up to this point, and based on the nature of the hyper critical reviews--that I will probably enjoy it. Also, enough people had enough fun with it, it seems.

Though, the main campaign is really short, no?

Is there actual reply value after that, or other game types to keep things interesting?

I liked F1 2010, and 2011 is purportedly better.

2011 was on sale for $37 two days ago. (Stalker was on sale 2 days ago for $7.50 and Bundle for $17.50 --- the bundle is $8 today)

Wonder how much better the 2011 is, but I'll hold out till it gets to $10 since I haven't really played 2010 yet. Same thing with Dirt3. Need to save for a Playseat or something similar before I want to dive deep into racing games. Glad I haven't spent any money on day 2 and 3.

I picked up Batman AC anyway. I'll wait awhile longer for a better patch, but at least I got it cheaper than the 40 I was going to cough up for the 360 version.

I'm interested in the STALKER games, but have never played any of them. Is one better than the others? Are the later ones dependent on having played the original? In other words, is there any reason I shouldn't just buy Call of Pripyat? (Just looking to save money wherever I can )

You can just get COP. They are all good but if you dont want to buy the pack COP is a good pick. The modding community released the "Complete Mod" that changes and updates a ton of features so make sure to check that out.

You can just get COP. They are all good but if you dont want to buy the pack COP is a good pick. The modding community released the "Complete Mod" that changes and updates a ton of features so make sure to check that out.

Hold on there, partner. I'd say you should get both Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. The only questionable game in the series is Clear Sky, which focuses more on faction wars than exploration of the zone, and requires more patience than the other two. But definitely get both SoC and CoP.

Make sure you download the complete mods they are excellent and worth using even for your first play through

for Defense grid: what are the challenge "adrenaline" missions?

I don't see any adrenaline missions, I have awakenings with updates....do I need some DLC maps?

Like the third map or something in the base game. When you select a map you will see a bunch of other modes come up below and if it has an adrenaline mode it will have the button to start playing that.

oh, gotcha. didn't explore enough.

I've gone through the main game long ago, should have no problems with this. And I do remember some of those videos.

In fact, I just loaded it up and finished the final map, which I was hung on more than a year ago, never could finish it. Just completed it on first attempt and really only lost a few cores because I forgot the button for orbital laser, lol.



As for Stalker--it sounds like the mods are a must according to everyone here. Where is the best place to get these, and is there a "uber mod pack" where it just has all of the best stuff together and involves a rather painless install? Are these mostly bug fixes, or also gameplay/visual improvement?

http://www.moddb.com/ Should have the Complete mod. That is all you need for each is the Stalker Complete Mod. It is a simply install and it overhauls and adds a ton of stuff to the game (all for the better).

For that Defense Grid Achievement, remember you can't lose a single core and you need to get a high score (meaning having a ton of money at the end) to get it.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is set in 2011, one year prior to the events of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game.

So wouldn't it come before the original (Call of Pripyat)?
