I got bored with portal 2 rather quick.

Portal 2 is great fun but the campaign is...well...it's your standard over in a few hours deal. Wonder if Valve will ever make a multiplayer shooter involving portal gun tech?

Finished up with Hoard, L.A. Noire and Chronicles of Mystery: Scorpio Ritual. Really had wanted to see the Nancy Drew Pack go on a daily deal, oh well. Maybe in the summer for Deus Ex HR, Space Marine, Saints Row 3 and Skyrim.

Time to replace my 9600GT I guess! What's a good value for these games? I had to turn down some stuff for Deus Ex for it to be close to smooth at 1920x1080.

If any of you are even remotely interested in a good detective adventure story, then do yourself a favor and buy LA Noire. I bought it yesterday for $12 and I'm absolutely enthralled with it. Great storytelling, great immersion, great acting. I wish we had more games like this.

Picked up Terraria just now for $2.49. Reminds me of Adventure for the Atari 400. Fun little game and perfect for the laptop.

Yeah I read the same thing. I think a solid 30 FPS is probably okish for a 3rd person adventure game. If this was a shooter or racing game then different story.

GTA IV runs fine at 30 FPS which is what alot of people can only get. I have managed to get 50-60 FPS on my new rig with max settings and while the added FPS is very nice, it really didn't enhance the experience that much.

Going to take a chance because $12.50 is pretty much a movie and coffee for me and I have seen some pretty lousy movies. Hopefully its not too bad.

There's a mod that can fix this. Honestly though, I don't mind the framerate cap. It's a third-person adventure game, not Unreal Tournament. There's no really quick reflexes required, at least, nothing that requires a high framerate. Besides, the low framerate gives it a more cinematic, more "movie-like" feel, IMO.

The game also letterboxes the screen if you're playing at anything other than a 16:9 resolution. Again, not a problem for me, but there's a mod that fixes this too. You'll have to google it on your own.

It doesn't really matter how fast or slow paced the game is. I just can't stand playing a PC game with a framerate that low. Don't really feel I should need to apply a crack to a bought and paid for game just to get it working properly.
