The person who won the grand prize....ugh. Looks like it will go to waste imo.
For those who were curious, this is the kid who won the grand prize of every game available on Steam.

Yeah... will most likely go to waste.
Fun fact: Looking at my Steam library, I have ~115 Steam games installed, which take up a total of about ~400GB. If you want to do some really rough math, there's 2,203 games available on Steam; 2,203 divided by 115 is about 20, and 20 multiplied by 400GB is 8000GB.
So, a ballpark estimate of space required would be around 8 terabytes. I don't even want to think about how much time that would take to download.
LOL, I don't think the average person would play more than 20% of those games. They aren't really giving away as much as it looks like, unless they are giving away a time dilation device to give you more time to play, lol.
I was wondering if they'd actually give you the games in your library or in your inventory (tradeable/giftable).
I guess I have my answer.
That's not as good of a grand prize as I had thought. I wouldn't WANT every Steam game in my library. It would be more fun to keep what I want (and could reasonably have time to play) and gift what I didn't.
A perfectly acceptable move. It will be even cheaper the next time it's on sale, and it will be less buggy after more patches. More power to you.

I know it's wrong... but if I were Valve and this is the tool that won my contest I would spin that wheel again. I actually feel a little sick to my stomach.

The real interesting thing is that he will be required to add the current value of all those games to his income for this years taxes. Assuming that the average cost of the games was $10 he has to claim an extra $22,030 income this year and pay taxes on that amount, and Valve is required to report a prize of that size to the IRS, so he can't just conveniently forget about it like you can with a small prize worth just a few hundred. So, overall that grand prize will end up costing somewhere between 3-4 grand.
I wish I could say that. My wish list only shrank by about 3 games. Got a lot of games that weren't on the list, added a bunch too.
Win all the Steam games...only play MW3.I know it's wrong... but if I were Valve and this is the tool that won my contest I would spin that wheel again. I actually feel a little sick to my stomach.
Wish list gets smaller and smaller as time goes because tech gets better/older, and I can't stand the old tech. Self-solving problem.
Win all the Steam games...only play MW3.
But then he has to pay income taxes on that as well? So they need to give him more money. It'll never end!The grand prize includes a payment to cover the income taxes, so that isn't a problem.
Only thing I might have bought was Skyrim, but since I got it for the xbox cheaper - looks like I missed out on nothing. I wish they'd quit rehashing the same old titles for each sale.
