No kidding. I paid like $70 for the english retail version - before I figured out that I could get the same thing in steam - while overseas in 2009 and I don't regret the purchase just due to the sheer content in there.

and yet all you guys bitch about no episode 3, no episode 3. Look at all that content 5 years ago! :awe:

wait, where the fuck is episode 3?? lazy fucks!!

I still haven't paid for and own 80% of orange box, and I am not bitching about episode 3. granted, I've barely played any of the content in orange box, b/c it mostly isn't my thing. :\

you say that like 25 bucks is not a lot. for a Steam sale, 25 bucks is not that cheap at all anymore even for a good game so no way is Duke Nukem worth that.

The cost is relative. Is there $25 worth of fun content?

but again, 50% off a game that is less than a month old?

you will be asking in another month or so if there is enough content at $10.

that is, if you choose not to blow $25 now.

Which should I buy:

X3: Reunion ($2.49)
or
X3: Terran Conflict ($4.99) - assuming it is a stand-alone expansion

I'm only buying one.

I've never played an "X game" before and I'm looking to get that same dog fighting excitement from FreeSpace 2. Yes, I know the "X games" are a lot more than dog fighting, but I at least want that aspect and I'm fine if there is plenty more to the game (e.g. economics).

So far, I have accumulated everything out of the Orange Box for free, except for episodes 1&2.

I didn't pick them up last week, when they were $2.50 each, or whatever. I guess I'm just waiting for them to show up free to complete the package.

wtf! You must have some really nice friends lol!

Yeah, I know it was a damn good purchase, especially for Portal, but you know, why bother paying for something when I could get it for free? lol

no, they were all offered for free:

HL2: free certificate with my bitchin' 9600XT--offered what, 6 months prior to HL2 actually being released? played through once many years ago when I first installed it. meh....

Portal: free on steam less than a year ago. I think it was when they added Apple? It was free for a day or two. played for about 45 minutes....eh.

Team Force 2: well, that's completely free now. I installed it last week, I think. still haven't loaded it.

all that's left is ep1&2, right?

Oh yeah I forgot almost all new ATI owners got that perk for buyin the card. That was a pretty sweet deal!

EP 1 & 2 are totally worth pickin up though if you enjoyed the original though, which I'm sure you've been told of course.

I like TF2 but I started playin TF when I was in high school and like CS, were in alpha stage at that time and were just much better games. I guess like the South Park episode said, I'm just a cynical asshole now lol.

If you've gone this long without playing Team Fortress 2, then you're missing out one one of the best online gaming experiences there is. When it went F2P a few weeks ago it actually surpassed Counter-Strike as the #1 online shooter in the world.

How is F1 2010. Is the multiplayer dead ? Worth $10 ?

From what I've heard, it's pretty good, but you NEED a wheel to play it with, or at least a gamepad. The handling is very difficult (it's F1 after all), not exactly a sim, but still quite challenging. I don't know if there's much variety in tracks but for $10 it's probably worth it. I remember noticing it has really good graphics, particularly with the rain and other weather effects.

I have no idea about multiplayer. It's less than a year old, so I'd imagine there are plenty of people playing.

I'm not really into FPS, though; that's why I generally don't care about Valve games. I enjoyed HL2, but was never wowed by it, or ever felt the need to play it again.

I do really, really like Borderlands, though. But that's because it's more than just FPS. I only wish it had a 3rd person view. :\

For $10 it is definitely worth it. I have played more than a 100 hours.. and still fell like playing. As lessthandan suggested.. you need a gamepad atleast. Its definitely not a sim, and they need to fix a lot of issues regarding handling and mechanics though. Not a perfect game.. and not in the league of codemaster's other racing games though.

dead space 2 was 12 earlier this year on d2d. At least that's what the receipt i have shows that I paid...

Dead Space 2 is $14.99? WTF? It just came out in February of this year!

I thought I got a great deal when I got it for $26.99 in March!

Note to self: never buy any game when it just comes out (except BF3 of course ).
