Shame the DoWII pack isn't discounted a bit more - don't have any of them and wanted to pick them up, but the pack is $45. The THQ pack (with all of them, plus 11 more games) is $50... so I'll probably end up buying that instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a game isn't a daily deal and is currently on sale it will remain on sale for that price for the entire sale unless it becomes a daily deal and sells for less, right?
Correct.
Most likely, but not necessarily. SSF IV: Arcade Edition was on sale for something like $26 earlier today, and it's no longer on sale. Previously during one of the sales (might have been last year's summer sale), The Witcher was on sale for something like $6.80 and was taken off a few days in.

I love Steam sales, unless it's something I really want I make myself wait until I can get it for 75% off or better.

Looking around, with that rule in mind, I see Dreamkiller is on sale for $7.49, 75% off. Looking at the Steam forum it looks like that game has been on sale very rarely, so I'm thinking about buying it. I want to think about it some more, before I buy, though.
Dude, not worth it, Dreamkiller is a crappy game, you're better off buying Serious Sam HD.

Pulled the trigger on the X Pack(the space games), Syberia Bundle, Still Life Bundle, Port Royale 2, Borderlands, Secret Files Puritas Cordis and Tunguska, Recettear and Back to the Future. Was going to get a little bit more but going to hold some budget in reserve to see what the daily deals bring.

You know that you've got a problem when you load up your cart with all of the Borderlands DLC... and Steam tells you that you've already purchased it before.

so THQ hit collection - $50, which includes all of DoWII, Company of Heroes, others and such.

and the DoWII complete pack, alone, is $44.

interesting.

Yeah, I ended up dropping on the Hit Collection.

$3.50-a-go for 14 games (including 3 I really want and others I'm also interested in) vs the 3 I really want for $15 each...

wish they still had the standard "specials" menu and not this front page monstrosity they're using now.

AMD CPU? I've got the same issue on one of my old PCs that my son uses. My main PC runs an Intel chip, and Borderlands runs fine.

On the other hand, I don't know why am I excited about this, I haven't played most of the games I bought in the Christmas sale.

A very subjective question here but...what minimum Metacritic rating is high enough that you don't feel the need to check other reviews(like IGN, Gamespot et al)and will make your purchase decision based just off what it shows on Steam? 80?

If you haven't played them yet, the CoH games are worth it alone. DoW2, IMO, not so much but they're not bad games either. I just feel like Relic took DoW2 down the ARPG road while still keeping enough RTS elements around to call it one. But that was the base game and I haven't played Chaos Rising or Retribution.

if this is going to be like the last sale, i'm going to be severely disappointed. Although I shouldn't really buy anything as I just spent a lot of money on an AR-15 and optic.

I just bought retribution for $15. Anybody that wants to get only the DOW2 games can by the DOW2 gold digital @ amazon (activatable on Steam) for $22. So it'll be $37 instead of $45.

Also Civ 5 is for 17$ @ GamersGate only today.

Picked up Oblivion Deluxe (don't have any of the add-ons, so figured it was worth it), Borderlands (had beat it on 360, but didn't get any of the DLC, so it's kinda new to me still), Disciples 2/Jagged Alliance 2 combo pack (cheaper than just the Disciples 2 Gold pack), and Recettear due to suggestions in here (plus I think my wife will like it).

I hope today's deals suck, cuz I can't do this every day, :/ lol.

Thinking about getting Medal of Honor, but I still have 6 or 7 games on my backlog. Maybe I'll just wait until the Christmas sale.

I ended up picking up Test Drive Unlimited 2. It had a Nissan GT-R, so I was satisfied. I also picked up Witcher II, but I still need to play Witcher 1!

1.5MB/s - it's satellite Internet - and the worst provider of all - WildBlue
-- if i didn't discover an undocumented 24 to 48 hours a month of unmetered downloading (i got 40GB plus my 17GB last month; including Shogun II ) i could never run a tech site.

When the demands get even greater, i will have to set a HughesNet Dish alongside my Wildblue dish .. i figure for $200 a month, i could get 80-100GB a month. It's damned expensive to live in a rural area as a power user of the 'net.

thats why I havent moved outside of my smaller town, dish internet sucks
