Kinda thought the OTT goal shoulda come back. Shows what I know.

I'm just going to quote my post from a few days ago:

They also need to change the rule on kicked goals, because the way they interpret it doesn't match what's in the rule book. If a fan can't be pretty confident about the way it's going to be ruled after seeing a replay, then the rule probably needs to be revised.

Yeah, he was stopping. I've seen other goals disallowed because the player's skate was sliding across the ice like that while stopping. Also, his left skate moved forward relative to his right skate (slightly). A soccer player would call that a kick. It was more of a stop than a kick, but the NHL hasn't been consistent with how they rule on a goal kicked in with a stopping motion.

I don't care what they want the rule to be, I just wish they'd figure it out, put it in the rule book and be consistent.

Yeah, it is pretty poorly worded. Saw a play by the kings (might have been ducks, hell I don't remember) where a guy was stopping and his skate hit a rut and bounced, puck went in and it got called back.

Bye bye Nucks!!

Michel Therrien is such a cry baby. Damn near every single post-game interview he is blaming the refs.

This is the most hilarious distinct kicking motion I've ever seen: http://i.minus.com/ibaeusQFuWE4ij.gif

gg Sharks.

Sucks that the Wild are down to their third string goalie, but you can't blame the goalie for losing when you score 0 goals.

I remember when playoffs got fewer calls than regular season. They wanted to keep the pace of the game going unless there was something serious. Just sayin'.

Canucks suffered more injuries against Boston than the rest of the teams in the playoffs. Blind eye one way, full sight the other. Either call them all or don't call them unless they're dangerous.

The way Dan Bylsma post-game interview went, I am think we will see a goalie change for the Pens come next game.

What do you mean by competition? If you mean that the teams in their division are getting better, take another look at the spread of the Northwest division for the past 5 years compared to any other. The points spread at the end of the season has been the smallest out of any region. Top to bottom in the east has been a way bigger gap for a long time now.

Cap is going to hurt - I wonder if the Canucks are going to keep AV around. He's a good coach, but aside from their run for the cup their playoff performance is just lacking.

Yes, I mean competition. I look at how many teams have a shot of getting into the playoffs and the NW division has been complete shit for years. I'm not saying the Canucks are a horrible team, but they certainly didn't have to battle it out a whole lot to win that division.

Barry Melrose is a bitch. For the past 4 years, every team that has beaten vancouver in the playoffs has gone on to win the stanley cup. Sharks sweep the Nucks tonight. And that bitch Melrose said the Sharks will not win it. Go suck on a dildo Melrose and shove it up your ass!

That got called back? Distinct kicking motion my ass, more like distinct falling motion.

His leg was in a turned kick motion before any contact with the other player, only thing I can see that deserves consideration.

The pens game last night was all on Fleury 24 SA and 6 goals GTF out. Also Malkin is pissing me off with all his turnovers and his stupid penalties. Time to give Vokuon a chance to see what happens can't get any worst.

1. 3 years
2. Until last year you could say the same about the teams who beat the Flyers; obviously the trend was broken
3. That kind of statistic is stupid.
4. Gotta get through the Blackhawks.

If Vokoun takes them further, say goodbye to MAF as a Penguin. All of HFBoards (and probably every hockey fan watching who's not a Pens fan) was laughing at him last night.

On the same token, Nabakov's stats are not much better. It's not all on Fleury. The Isles are just really hard to play against (we knew that as Caps fans). You need to give them more credit.

That is certainly not a distinct kicking motion. His leg was already turning that way to stop then he got up-ended completely. If anything, he put his foot back down both to stop and possibly contact the puck, which he was no longer looking at, but I see no purposeful "kicking".

I do give credit to the Isles. They are going to be a tough team in the future. They are 2 or 3 players from being a top team. I wanted to play Ottawa in the first round, it was the easiest match up for the Pens.

I'm not so sure about saying goodby to MAF they would have to make Vokoun the starter and is he good enough to be that at 37?

Also the Pens have more trouble with teams that are a scoring team like Philly. You can see it with the Isles and their talent all the scoring from them. A team that relies on D will get destroyed by the Pens.

Man, depressing that we got swept. I knew as soon as Bieksa took that penalty with about 5 minutes left that we were done. What an idiot; aside from us not being able to score goals the Sharks PP was the number one reason we lost the series! They were unstoppable with the extra man. Ugh.

Oh well, GG Sharks, better team won no doubt.

Sedins were pretty much invisible too. They had a $9 million cap hit for the goalies this season. Huge fuck up by Gillis. Huge.

I can't help but be slightly mad at Vancouver. It looked like they just weren't inspired. I know I was rooting for SJ anyways, but, I mean shit, scratch out a single win why don't ya?

You know a team like Columbus or Dallas would have been happy to take that playoff spot off your hands.

EDIT: I'm probably overreacting, there were two OT games. With a couple of bounces this could have been a 4-2 series.

I didn't like either of the last two calls that caused the canucks to lose. to me, those are regular season penalties, not 1-goal-game postseason penalties. put the whistles away and let them settle it on the ice.
