CHI definitely brought their A game Saturday, and gooned it up enough to keep Detroit off theirs.

Detroit hasn't lost back to back games in quite some time, hopefully they play their own game tonight at home and finish it off. No one wants a game 7 on the road.

In warmups before Game 5 on Saturday night at the United Center, Mayers shot pucks through Wings players and into the Detroit goal. The NHL fined Mayers a half-day's pay Monday for his actions.

While I want the Wings to win, if Chicago earns their victory I have no problems with it. I just don't like cheap shots, bad ref calls, etc. I don't mind losing with a deserved loss.

Nope, bad calls aside we should have lost. I can't think of a bad call off the top of my head at least. I'm sure there were 1 or 2, but nothing blatant like previous games.

Not that it matters, I was watching the Canadian feed and they were pretty emphatic that the call of a penalty shot was a must call, and maybe I'm just being a homer, but all I saw was Collaiacovo getting stick and without any hooking motion. What say you.

I consider the penalty shot questionable.

I think the Wings are in trouble. Game seven in Chicago, all the momentum with the Hawks...

I don't know whether the ref was calling it a hook or a slash, but it fits the definition of a slash pretty well:

Any forceful or powerful chop with the stick on an opponent’s body, the opponent’s stick, or on or near the opponent’s hands that, in the judgment of the Referee, is not an attempt to play the puck, shall be penalized as slashing.

The only question is whether it was forceful enough to call it a slash. It wasn't a gentle tap, and it did prevent the shot on goal. They let a lot of slashing go, and I'm glad they do. But if you do it to prevent a shot on a breakaway I think they should call it every time.

Was a beauty of a shot too.

I'm rooting for Chicago here, but my level of caring is about 1 out of 10.

It looked like a fair call for a penalty shot to me, I can't complain based on the video. Another deserved victory for Chicago unfortunately.

My biggest gripe about going back to Chicago is having to listen to their singer for the national anthem again. Dear lord is he terrible.
