Cause Vegas, NBC and the NHL can't get enough Penguin penis, so they have the odds makers favor them so their storyline for next year is already set. Nevermind they sold the farm to try to win this year and fail, and now they will have depth issues and a depleted minor league system. Ignore all that and embrace the penis.
Heh heh...

Please give Letang his $58 million, Shero. Pretty please...

But they're a young team, totally on the verge of greatness. Just like the Oilers.
Coolio.

They can fight it out for the "On The Cusp Cup." AKA the first pick in the draft lottery.

For some reason I thought they drafted someone at the top of the 2012 draft too. What happened to their pick in 2012?

Traded to Washington Caps for Semyon Varlamov

It was the 11th overall which they used to draft Filip Forsberg

You guys are so mean
Meh. Pounding your chest about repeatedly scoring high draft picks due to being an NHL door mat = kinda stoopit.

I'm a huge Joe Sakic fan too. That dude was one classy player in his time. Patty Roy... not so much.

Did you watch the draft? Devils fans chanted "Marty's better" when the Avs were making their pick.

I would have loved to go to the draft, it was a great day for Devils fans.

I heard all the Devils fans cheared Vancouver's GM when he went to the podium to make the 9th pick.

There was also at least one Rangers suck chant that incorporated Bettman somehow, probably in place of the Flyers.

I didn't get to watch it live because I wasn't home, but I have it recorded. Not sure what time that happened though, so I can't find the video of it.

Do the Islanders still have Nabakov? Pittsburgh might have the worst goalie in the division at this point.
As of today Nabokov is a RFA UFA. That may change though... DiPietro is about to be bought out.

Goal keeping was not the issue. The issue was the coaching.
So pucks that beat MAF from behind the goal line/terrible angles didn't lead to his being yanked in favor of Vokoun in Round 1...? Gotcha. The coaching issue; that's why Disco Dan got a contract extension...? Gotcha.

UFA

And Tim Thomas is looking for a new job. That should be interesting.
Yeah, I meant UFA.

If Thomas gets a starting job... oh man. More likely that some team will bring him to camp on a PTO.

lollerskates

Cap Hits in 14/15

Malkin, Evgeni : 9.5 Million
Crosby, Sidney: 8.7 Million
Neal, James : 5.0 Million
Letang, Kris : 7.25 Million
Fleury, Marc-Andre: 5.0 Million
Kunitz, Chris: 3.75 Million
Martin, Paul: 5.0 Million

Assuming the cap stays at 64 Million (no one knows if it will go up or down), 7 guys represent 44.2 Million, or 69% of their total cap space.

They are in cap hell right. Doesn't pascal need a contract right now as well? Do they take a chance and re-sign him to a short deal but potential high cap hit? Or give him a longer contract to lighten the cap hit?

Good luck best GM in the league.lol

He goes UFA as of Friday. They only have 17 regulars signed on for next season with 7.6 million in cap space. Pascal is too expensive...shit, rookies at this point are too expensive.

Vokoun did just fine once he was in. So at that point goal tending was not the issue. gotcha. Dan didn't make the changes necessary to adjust to the game the bruins were playing. Same shit happened last year. gotcha.
