1968 total goals in the east, 1854 total in the west. 5.466 ave goals per game in the east, 5.15 goals per game in the west, difference of .31666 total goals per game. Not a big difference. To say one division is better in offense or defense over the other at this point is premature.

All the Habs fans I have seen their reaction to the game have expressed disgust that the coach let them lose their cool like that and they were all expecting at least a few suspensions. The refs also did a shitty job in letting the game get out of their control.
I have no issue with fighting, but that was pure stupidity.

Uh, bullshit. The refs were handing out penalties like candy, and they were taking one guy instead of two so everyone knew they were risking being shorthanded if they started anything. Beyond that they can't do much. Placing any amount of blame on the officials is idiotic.
