My guess is you will get the ducks if they win. NHL would want a Ducks/Hawks Conference final as a possible matchup.

Only thing it depends on is who wins the series...based on the seeding, if ducks win, they face the kings. If wings win, they'll play the hawks as the lowest seed and the kings play the sharks.

Also, interesting thing is, if the ducks win, kings play a freeway series on the road, if wings win, kings play a short hop with home ice.

Hrmmm. For some reason I got it in my head that the NHL "re-seeds" after the first round. What sport am I thinking of that does that? Or am I just way too tired and completely off base?

They do "re-seed" after the first round if by that you mean they rearrange the bracket so the highest remaining seed plays the lowest. That's why the Kings' opponent depends on who wins the last series. They definitely play the Ducks if the Ducks win.

Getting back to Ducks-Wings, I realized Mike Babcock has forgotten more about hockey than I'll ever know, but how did he choose Lashoff over Colaiacovo? Colaiacovo looked so much more settled out there on the ice. His first pass was made so much faster and was always on the tape without someone bearing down on the person he was passing to.
