Nice pics, the P-38 was one hell of a beast for it's time, the Japs called it the "fork tongued devil" due to it's twin booms. It was also armed with several rapid fire cannon in the nose, a zero in it's gun-sights was in for a very bad day!..

Thanks...Sony A57 with a Tamron 70-300mm lens...except last one which was a Sony NEX5N.

IIRC, it had one cannon (initially 37mm, later 20mm) and 4 machine guns in the nose and that was the Germans who nicknamed the P-38 this after encounters in the Mediterranean theatre, whereas the Japanese are the ones who called the Beaufighter Whispering death after it 'rained' on their parades in Burma.

I just heard on the radio that there is going to be a B-17 here in town. I'm debating on going to check it out. They said it's the most restored B-17 around now.

CT114 Tutor...this was the Canadian Snowbirds Demonstration team...they were very entertaining...

I saw the B1 bomber at Andrews AFB air show years ago. It flew by and then shot up vertically into the clouds (at least from my angle). That was the coolest thing since it was a freaking bomber, not a fighter jet.
