The only thing I bought for myself was ARMA II: Combined Operations, and that was just to get Day Z.

From Steam:
KOTOR 2 - $2.49
Transformers: War for Cybertron - $5
Sleeping Dogs - $4.49

From GMG:
Civ V: Gods and Kings - $3.15 (essentially free, since I had some credit)

From Amazon:
Spec Ops: The Line - $2.49
NBA 2K12 - $5
Darksiders 1/2/DLC - $8.19

All in all, not too bad on the wallet this time.

Just a couple of Saints Row: The Third DLCs, Witchers 2, and Hero Academy.

The only other things I'm interested in on Steam are Borderlands 2 and Dawnguard for Skyrim, but they're only 50% off and I'm not in a rush to get them, so maybe they'll be 75% off by Summer sale.

Tomb Raider Legend
Prince of Persia (2008)
The Longest Journey

All gifts. I have far more new games than I have time to play (don't we all at this point?). Currently working on MP3, FC3, Hitman Absolution, BL2, Deus Ex: HR, Uncharted 3, and when I really want to blow time, BF3 Aftermath.

Kaotik, do you seriously play all the games you buy? Or do you just "demo" each one and play through the good ones?

Pretty light haul this time:

Anno 2070
Batman Arkham City GoTY (have on disc already. For $7.50 and the convenience of download, why not. )

I haven't bought anything this sale. Most of us have already spent too much damn money from sales of past years and I still have an insane backlog so nothing for me this year.

Scratch that, bought Torchlight 2 and Counter Strike GO, couldn't resist those games.

Wasn't expecting to buy much this year, but still did. In addition to Steam purchases, I'll also add in games I bought from GMG and Amazon.

I also bought a couple of mega packs (Dawn of War Complete and SimBin Mega Pack). In those instances I've only listed the pack name, rather putting every single title and artificially lengthening the list.

Medal of Honor Standard WW
Sniper Elite V2 The Landwehr Canal Pack DLC
Sniper Elite V2 Fuel Dump DLC
SimBin Mega Bundle (came with a lot of stuff)
Front Mission Evolved Retail (EU)
GameMaker: Studio Full
Lucius Pre-Order
NBA 2K13 Retail
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD - Revert Pack
Risen 2 - Air Temple DLC
Risen 2 Retail (US/ROW)
Cherry Tree High Comedy Club
Need for Speed: Undercover
Warband Napoleonic Wars DLC
Civilizations V Gods and Kings
Civ V GOTY DLC Only December 2012
Resonance
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City New Audio NA
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Thirty Flights of Loving
Mafia
Sniper Ghost Warrior Gold base + 2 DLC
The Sims Medieval
Deadlight
The Sims 3
Crazy Taxi retail
SEGA Bass Fishing
Space Channel 5 Part 2
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Blacklight: Tango Down
Dungeon Defenders Collection (Summer-Winter 2012)
Dawn of War Franchise Pack (came with a lot of stuff)

I bought 1 game from steam store.
The rest from Amazon or GOG.

I hope next year, they are more aggressive with their sales, and don't have as many repeats as they did this time around.
I was pretty disappointed with steam this holiday season.

Wow I bought like 8 games and after seeing some of the massive buys above feel like I was a spendthrift.

I only bought a couple games this sale, thanks partly to the somewhat crappy steam sale and partly because thanks to xmas i was given some of the games i would have bought.

I bought:
Sleeping Dogs (i bought it at GMG, it was $16 but i added a 30% discount coupon, so it went to $12 and it gave me back $6 in GMG credit to buy something else)
Bethesda Bundle in GamersGate (i still have the games showing up, keeping the faith man!)
Darksiders 2 DLCs (all of them)

And i was given:

Darksiders 2
The Walking Dead
Sine Mora
Mark of the Ninja
FTL
Hotline Miami
Alpha Protocol
SS3 Jewel of the Nile DLC

So im pretty happy with the xmas/holidays sale, i got quite a bunch of games and i didnt have to buy them XD

I pretty much bought everything that was on sale. I don't even know why, but I bought over 100 games and DLC during the sale.

SUCKER!

Gabe is laughing at you.

Now you can join the rest of us during the next sale that whine when there's "nothing good on sale" (cause you already own everything that they put on sale again for the 100th time).

I'm laughing at the "OMG THIS SALE SUCKED" comments.

To be honest, it mostly did suck. Especially since most everything that went on sale could have been had somewhat cheaper through other vendors throughout the holiday season.

Steam sales are not the same things they used to be even a year ago.

They didn't suck; there were better sales on SOME items elsewhere, which is expected since those markets have matured. Most of us are just disappointed because the big ticket items we wanted weren't on sale for what we wanted because we already own a backlog of the other items.

No - it sucked because other than maybe a couple of titles, it's the exact same things rehashed on sale that's been in every other steam "holiday" sale for the last 2 years. Basically, steam sales have reached critical mass.

I didn't buy much; two worlds 2 velevt; dragon age origin ultimate; walking dead; and bastion to just pass $30 mark. Had sleeping dog in my cart for 4.95; didn't realize it was not normal price and spent 30 minutes checking into dlc; the price changed just as i removed the last dlc i didn't want

This thread is about the steam holiday sale, and this years sale sucked.

There was less on sale this year then last year.

The unreal package did not even go on sale this year.
