Tropico 4 75% off! Was hoping this would be a daily deal sometime in the next few days.

$7.49 for the game

$16.22 for the game + all DLC (oddly enough its .02 cents cheaper to buy the game and DLC separately)

Note there's a DLC for it also (I'd never heard of it) that's 80% off for $1.99.

Also they just repriced the main game from $2.49 to $4.99 in the sale...

Not for me they didn't....still showing 80% off....$4.99.

Tempted by Two Worlds 2...I remember I thought the first one was better than the reviews made it out to be, but I didnt LOVE it...under $10 though think I may pick it up.

Craig: it's now priced at $4.99.

Rivethead: Not for me! It's $4.99!

Unfortunately, I bought Tropico 4 and DLC for a higher price in June from another site, and it doesn't work on Steam.

Reading fail. Perhaps I shouldn't have had that extra beer at lunch........

Dead Island is pretty fun, but beware buying it if you use USB headphones. It has some major static in the sound witth USB headphones, sometimes so loud you have to restart until it gets better.

And then there is the disappearing weapon bug when you upgrade something (ie put in a ton of time to make something awesome, then it disappears - have to manually copy saves to have a backup).

really sucks when starting steam on a computer you haven't used it in awhile. damn program really likes to hand when it tries to start a couple dozen game updates right away. took me about 10 start/close/start cycles before it was stable enough to not lock up.

> 7/14/12 Saturday Daily Deals:

> The Elder Scrolls Skyrim $29.79 50% off

Tempting -- I've been waiting for a GOTY version, but reviews of the vampire DLC were not kind at all.

> Two Worlds Epic Edition $4.99 75% off
> Two Worlds 2 Velvet Edition $9.99 75% off includes below

I don't really need any more RPGs, especially if I get Skyrim, but still tempting.

> Borderlands GOTY $7.49 75% off

If you don't already own this, you really should buy it.

What's up with popcap games? They've made a fortune of these games, and it seems like they haven't even bothered to update them for widescreen. Most were released back in 2006 with little to no updated versions since. Are they just making too much money with tablet and phone sales that they can't be bothered to work on PC versions? I'd probably spend $50 on those games, some to play and some to give to friends or relatives, but not for old ass games that were designed for 4:3 CRT monitors!

I just figured they'd be milking those a little harder. Maybe too much hookers & blow at this point.

Hahah nope; if Skyrim is on daily deal for $30, then that's as low as it's going to go. Pick it up now, man.

It could become a Flash Sale or a Community Choice.

EDIT:

If anyone is interested in Ys: Origin, skip it and buy Ys: The Oath in Felghana. It's cheaper and supposedly quite a bit better. A little older, but it runs on the exact same engine.

Why not both? Gotta catch 'em all!

Been on the fence about this one. Broke down after I saw the 40 thousand times recommended.

Should definitely give it a shot. The sequel comes out in about two months too!

EDIT:

Also consider Orcs Must Die! The sequel for that comes out at the end of the month.

Taking some solace hoping my compuker can't run some of these things gloriously, but downloading said demo as we speak.

Coconut Queen is another 75% off at 2.49. Looks like Build-a-lot done much better.

Grr, can't win at all with the deal votes. All the current Valve ones I already have.

If anyone is interested in Ys: Origin, skip it and buy Ys: The Oath in Felghana. It's cheaper and supposedly quite a bit better. A little older, but it runs on the exact same engine.

A lot of the appeal with Felghana (for me at least) is the nostalgia from the SNES Ys III game, and it's a vastly superior remake. I think Origins is supposed to be better if you've played any of the other Ys games first. I broke my resistance and got Origins for the $8 flash, I figured I would try it out if I saw it for <$10. I've been maintaining that Felghana for $5 is an excellent deal, but I keep the golden rule.

Didn't like it?

I've been playing for a while, but it's gone downhill and I don't care for it anymore. I think they tweaked how you gain XP so now it's agonizingly slow even with my lifetime boost. And I also remember at the beginning that when you made any real money purchase you got a temporary extra XP boost on top of all the other boosts. Apparently the steam pack doesn't count :'(

It just isn't as fun as it used to be so it was money down the drain. Not much at all which is why I gambled, but still.

Anyway... more stuff today! Might grab the indie bundle 3 as there's a few in there I still don't have and look interesting. Tropico 4 was on my list as well so I may give that a shot. I keep tossing around From Dust because it looked interesting at first, even though everybody said it was a let down. Dead Island is tempting too but I think I can hold off and work through the backlog, and by that time it'll be $5.
