Guys, I just found this awesome program (thanks to someone in the Cheapassgamer forums) that will give you back a fair bit of space in your HD. I'm sure like me many of you have a HD dedicated to just Steam and probably have a lot of games installed, well this program goes through and deletes all the redundent stuff Steam downloads for each game you download (you know like those VC Redist, DirectX, etc installers)

I did it on my 1TB drive that is nearly full of Steam games and it cleared up 13.5GB
Here is the page, easy to use
http://steamcleaner.tikione.fr/en/
Only one tip, when you find your Steam directory just select the Steam folder and don't select the steamapps folder (the program wont see it otherwise for some reason)

You saved 7008.84 MB

Sweet! For some reason part of me though the exe for DX and stuff was deleted after successful installation... but I guess not. Glad to get rid of it all though.

Hot Pursuit isnt much of a game, and I would think all the people who really wanted it, got it a while back.
Weird thats what people voted for.

Am hoping people vote for Anno 2070 cuz EA murdered SimCity a long time ago, and SC4 is old as hell anyway.

my friend and i got hot pursuit at ollies for $7 a few weeks ago. been playing the interceptor multiplayer mode, taking each other down. it's pretty fun that way.

SP isn't really all that great because the NPC cars all have this super huge speed boost cheat.

I dunno, I think I've seen all of these games go on sale already as flash deals or something.

Haven't seen any comments on Dead Space / Dead Space 2. They just hit 75% off. Any good? They look interesting.

I haven't played either, but from what I've read, they are both awesome games. Dead Space 1 is supposed to have control issues, as it wasn't coded well for use with a mouse + keyboard, though DS2 doesn't have those issues. DS2 is supposed to contain all the good from DS1 as well as having addressed the control issues.

I voted for Darkness II because it's the best game of the lot, imho (played it for several hours at a friend's place a few weeks ago), but I have no intention of buying any of them this time around.

Yeah, the current round has already been on discount once.

Dead Space is probably my favorite survival horror series, followed by STALKER and FEAR. I like good sci-fi so that has something to do with it. I bought DS2 during last year's summer sale for $15 and it was quite worth it. The control issues stem from the console port fencing with the PC--the game has weapon upgrades that include aiming speed, which is more meaningful on consoles. It didn't bother me too much, toggle DPI settings help a lot.

I'll offer a counter-point by saying that Dead Space 1 was repetitive and boring. Many people laud it as a masterpiece of horror and atmosphere, but if you're a fan of real horror games, you'll find the scares in Dead Space to be pretty cheap. After the hundredth monster popping out of the hundredth metal vent going "OOGA BOOGA BOO," it gets tiring quickly.

If the game interests you at all, don't let me stop you from trying it. I'm in the minority anyway and it's hard to go wrong for $5.

I haven't played Dead Space 2 yet, but AFAIK it's less horror-oriented and more action-packed. I picked it up for myself and I'll give it a try soon.

Oh, and I love STALKER and FEAR. But I don't consider those horror games either.

Just picked up Stalker: Clear Sky for $2.49. I don't think I've seen it that cheap before. I already had the others from previous sales. I've yet to play any of em... hah

I think that's about everybody during steam sales.
We cant pass up a good game at a great price. Who cares if we may never play it.

I picked up Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl for $2 a while back and haven't gotten around to trying it yet, so not sure if I should get the other two.

Dead Space isn't great because of it's atmosphere; it's great because of it's combat. There simply isn't any other game where strategic limb removal trumps headshots.

Zombie games try for this, like Dead Island's removal of arms to stop a zombie grabbing you, but Dead Space has the gameplay down, and if you are a hardcore gamer, you owe it to yourself to experience that mechanic, as it is unique and more importantly fun.

I've been playing some Trine (1) - great game! I'm really glad I bought that pack. I've also played a little Crysis, which should also be great but keeps crashing on my system, even after upgrading to the latest nVidia drivers.

Is it likely we'll get Dragon Age:Origins at 75%? Seems like some of these 2010 games are not going beyond 50%.

My prediction is we'll get Oblivion GOTY tomorrow in a daily deal. And yay, I've fixed my Railroad Tycoon 2.

I would say it's very likely... as it's the current flash deal
