2012 Steam Summer Sale: DEAD!

I hate this. The steam summer sale sucks because it couldn't come at a worse time for me. Summer is the most expensive time of the year for me and I just have way too many expenses to be spending so much on video games.

It's not on sale any more often than Divinity II.

I actually grabbed Divinity II for $5 off of Amazon a few months ago. Risen, on the other hand, has yet to hit the $5 mark.

I voted Risen. I already got Divinity 2 a while ago from an Amazon sale for like ~$6. I haven't played it yet, but it's supposed to be really good.

Edit: lol... looked at my digital content on Amazon and had totally forgotten I bought Crysis back in April. I had considered buying it the other day when it was on sale through Steam... doh!

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is excellent, and one of the best stealth games out there. It's only $2.49.

Splinter Cell: Conviction, the newest one, throws away some of the stealth to be more action-packed, but it's still great in it's own way.

i played conviction awhile back so maybe I am forgetting something, but i don't recall it throwing away any stealth...sure, you can go on guns blazing, etc, but you aren't going to last long that way.

i started to play Machinarium and it seems pretty cool. not sure why i stopped playing, probably got into something else at the time.

Yes, Machinarium is a wonderful game too. It's not quite as kid-friendly as Botanicula... the puzzles are far more challenging, the art style is darker, and the game moves a bit more slowly, but the atmosphere and graphics are amazing. It has an excellent soundtrack too.

I own Samarost as well but I haven't played it yet.

It's not the sale that sucks, it's your life that sucks.

Yes, owning a home sometimes sucks.

Lots of things going down I need to invest money in, and this summer is hot as shit with every day over 90 and many over 100 degrees. The air conditioning bill alone is steep with the added watering of the yard, the water bill rises a lot too.

Summer is always more expensive for a single dude with a single income and a house to big for one person, but I survive.

The unexpected stuff like having to take down two trees because the city blows, along with inspections and BS is what really pisses you off as a home owner.

I hear ya man. I've got two decks to strip and refinish, a kitchen that needs painting, and hardwood floors that need refinishing.

No vacation for me this year.
