Playing Burnout now. So far, it's just "meh", but I haven't really given it a chance yet. It is very arcadey, and I guess I like a little more realism. I don't think I've yet had to break for a corner, and that's in the default car. I also like to know how fast I'm going, and I wouldn't mind at least the option of a rudimentary shifting option. It's just forward, reverse, e-brake, and boost, etc. I'm sure I'll play it some more, but just not what I was expecting so far, I guess.

Edit: Also, is there a way to set a destination point on the map? So I know which general direction to head? Or is it all just random driving around the available game world?

I strongly recommend Bulletstorm for $5. The game is only about five hours long, but that's five hours of crazy, ridiculous, over-the-top, quality entertainment.

It does use GFWL though in case that's a turn-off for anyone.

Here are just the 50 results returned

Yeah... that's why rather than telling people my Steam name, I just link them directly to my profile. Steam friend search sucks depending on how generic the name is you're searching.

hehe...I thought I just take a quick spin to get use to the controls, and end up at the airfield doing barrel rolls through the hoops for like an hour. Its an arcade racer. You shouldnt need to brake, just drift around corners by doing a quick tap of reverse.

I suspect Burnout is a lot more fun using a controller.

I have been using the windows 360 controller, and its pretty good. One thing I did have to do is set the binary to XP SP3 compatibility, as it was crashing when the game tried to explain the license. I have video capture software installed, and it was trying to use it as a web cam. Otherwise, its running pretty good. Kind odd how you set up video options outside of the game, but whatever.

Sorry it's not what you wanted so far - it is arcadey. It's been a long time on the map marker, I've forgotten - the races do mark a point to race to.

Every stoplight has a race tied to it.

So there is random driving, but also races with specific routes.

It's also about exploring, finding gates, finding certain places to jump.

Do people really want to manage cyclists? Seems awfully boring

For cycling ams it could be fun but not at $20. They sell Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $7 and price a cycling manager game at $20?

Damn, Dungeon of Dredmor is really addictive. I only paid a few bucks for it, and considering that I passed over it the first time thinking it is just another dungeon crawler with crummy graphics, I'm damn lucky I decided to give it a shot. It is more complex than it looks, and with the random factor and permanent death feature(optional) Rogue games are known for, it's a blast.

Thanks Craig, snagged Eschalon Book 2. Thank god they upped the resolution to 1024 x 800. It doesn't make my eyes bleed anymore.

WOW, Burnout Ultimate Box is kinda an ultimate turd edition. DLC that you see in game, which is three sets of cars, cannot be unlocked. No Big Surf Island either. The Burnout PC store has been shutdown, so there is no way to get the cars. You can use an unlocker to temporary unlock them, but you have to run it every time you run the game. You see Ultimate Box in the title, its assumed all DLC is in there. OK fine, but you can never unlock the DLC, which is already in the game? Pretty lame.

Yuck, sorry to hear that. I don't recall that Surf Island was released for PC unfortunately - it was nice to have on the PS3. Can't use DLC? Bad! Hopefully it's still fun, $4 is cheap.

It still is, and I was playing all night. Even went online and completed some challenges on full servers. I saw someone using the legendary cars and went to use one myself, then I noticed all the stuff thats missing.

You need to get some sleep!

By the way, Oblivion is $5. Worth it for someone who's never touched Elder Scrolls or wait for Skyrim to drop later this year?

If you're the type that values graphics a reasonable amount, get it. If not, get Morrowind.
