They're not being nice, they're being greedy. Before DayZ, hardly anyone cared about it, and CO was selling at $10. Now that people are interested in the DayZ mod, they're jacking up the price. I sure hope the guy who did the mod is getting a share of that, but I doubt it.

I think it's worth playing if you like a realistic war game. It's supposed to be a simulation.

Actually, since it won't go any lower, I'm just going to wait and see if War Z is any good. No point getting hooked on DayZ right now with Planetside 2 coming, anyway.

It's $10 right now. I got it cheaper, and if you're patient with Steam and Amazon you probably can too, but this game is AWESOME and it's one of the few games that, imho, would be worth it at $50 or $60 retail. I still smile every time I think about jumping off a cliff a mile over a river, turning into a dragon, soaring to the riverbed, turning back into human form, landing behind a pack of monsters, and incinerating them all with a massive fireball. BUY THIS GAME NOW IF YOU'VE BEEN ON THE FENCE.

Would have jumped on Arma 2 a few days ago, but now that I got into a beta for a certain game, this is too much for Arma 2 for me. Shame I would like to play DayZ but not at that price now

There probably isn't going to be a recap day.
I say this because the sales last day is tomorrow and there is till 1 more indie bundle that was leaked that will be a daily deal tomorrow.

So unless they do the new indie bundle with a bunch of recaps I don't see it happening. Plus, and to be quite honest here, a lot of the sale feels like a recap with the way daily/flash deals are showing up multiple times.

Was thinking about getting Tropico 4 for $7.50, then I realized it doesn't come with the DLC... it's $16 for the complete bundle. I'll stick with Tropico 3 for now and wait until the Tropico 4 GOTY or whatever gets cheaper.

Arma 2 is a tactical war sim. In the mod you run out of stamina and have to rest/eat. There's day night cycles. Limited resources so people try to kill you to steal your shit while you're hiding from zombies. That's why I'm interested in it.

It's in alpha so i heard it's buggy. Standalone game is going to come out eventually though. Maybe not for a while. The dev has ported it over to Arma 3 and he says that version should support 100+ players.

Zombie theme, but much different gameplay. Open world zombie survivor, where the greatest threat is other human players. You have to find weapons, food, etc, and the goal is just to survive. Kinda looks like the ultimate zombie game experience.

A little IMHO on Arma 2 and Dayz:

Arma 2 is not good. It's not that it couldn't be good, but the interface is horrid. If you are into military sims maybe you can get your mind around this and find it good, but when a game is a "simulator" which means you need to be precise, careful and can't get shot, clunky interfaces make the game miserable.

Those issues carry over into DayZ. This game is not a FPS, it is NOTHING like Left 4 Dead....I would say it's more like Theif or Assassins Creed in that you have to be quiet, hide, wait, sneak around etc. Again though, it is scarred by a horrid interface. Honestly, whoever made the Arma 2 interface is not a gamer...but then again, if it was made with the help of the military, they have a tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be.

That being said, DayZ is fun. It has moments as intense as Amnesia (or EvE Online) due to the gameplay and death you lose everything aspect. That is also kind of it's weakness. There is no real "goal" other than to live and living is tough. It is probably as close to how real life zombie apoc would actually be.

I will also go back and say it is like Eve Online in that you never know who your friends are or who will betray you, which to me adds to the excitement. It's not a game for everyone, it's not fast paced, and as mentioned it's still alpha, with plenty of bugs, server resets, and updates. It can be frustrating, but something about it overcomes all of that.

Left For Dead and DayZ mod are not even close to being the same as far as gameplay.

The only thing they have in common is the zombies.

If you just hate zombies then I see what you are saying....if not....then check it out.

For me..the mods atmoshere is its strong point....it rivels STALKER games as far as atmoshere, at least for me.
