Seems like a really sitty sale. Not many pickings under 5 bucks.

Yes clearly, if the price isn't <5 dollars, its a shitty sale.


The fact I can get great games for much cheaper prices. Lots of goodies for <5, lots of goodies for <10, and lots of goodies for <20. For games that have been about 40-60ish dollars recently, i can see them for about 20-35 dollars, which is still great.

The only downside? At a certain point, the age of the game doesn't make it cheaper --> how many itmes has bioshock been 5 dollars on a steam sale? Of course, at 5 dollars are you going to complain for some of the greatest games?

Picked up H.A.W.X. 2 for $5 (already own the first one).

Would probably be a lot of fun with a joystick, but a 360 pad will do for now.

When you stop and think about it, generally you're still spending about the same as if you'd bought 2 full priced retail games (and getting 20-30 games instead). I spent more than I have in the past but mostly nothing over $9

Just saw all Tom Clancy games on sale. Which is/are the best? Not gonna buy the pack, but i might try one out.

Impressions:
RAGE - ~7 hours in, it's not bad. Kind of like Fallout meets Road Warrior. I started in on Hard and the AI is fairly devious. Bandits use cover pretty well and mutants actually weave when charging you, so it's a bit of a challenge. It runs nicely enough on my hardware, I imagine it's way better with an nVidia GPU.
Ys Origin - Almost finished my 2nd playthrough after 23 hours. Good platformer, just as enjoyable as Felghana if not as memorable.

Damn, I didn't realize Gods and Kings was on sale only during the Civ franchise sale and I missed out grabbing it for 25% off

I missed out, cause I haven't stopped playing Civ 5 since I bought it on Daily the other day lol

Already 30 hours played, fuck...

Felghana is $5.09 right now, but it will be that price for another 21 hours, so don't buy it until tomorrow, since it might go on flash sale between now and then. Then again, at $5, not like you'd be losing a ton if you just buy it now. I will be buying it tomorrow if it hasn't gone on sale before then.

Yeah, I was going to wait until the absolute last minute to get Felghana, but I grabbed it with GalCiv2 just to save time since I won't be getting anything else. I highly doubt it'll be a flash deal...I might eat my words, but since 75% seems to be their magic number for those, it really only translates to losing $1.25 if it happens anyway versus buying it now.

Psychonauts has a lot of fans but didn't sell well IIRC, it's a unique game.

Stacking is a sort of 'adventure' style game where you solve adventure type puzzles clicking on various Russian-style 'dolls' that can fit in one another.

Yup, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is widely considered the best Splinter Cell game, and one of the best Tom Clancy games in general. Unfortunately though it's $6 right now, which is higher than it was a few days ago ($2.50).
