Riverhound, did your MFT come with the latest update?
Well, this happened much faster than I imagined. Bought a Focus. ST, mostly. It just needs to get shipped over from the dealer it's at. 201a package + moonroof.
black.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Supposed to get the car today. Apparently it has 201a, moonroof, & navigation. I didn't want navigation, but the car they were selling me was apparently damaged and this is the next closest thing, and they will discount the price such that the navigation option is free. Sounds good to me, but I am a little paranoid that they are trying to do something else here since the manager said something about "oh we also just need to sign a few papers" when as far as I thought everything was set and done already.
The whole deal is going to be off if they are trying to increase my interest rate or something. Hopefully it's just something to establish that I am buying a slightly different car from what was originally planned.
Sometimes it feels like you need a lawyer to buy a new car
I got it. Will post some pictures when I can.
It's an ST2 package, no HID lights. Would have been nice, but couldn't justify paying an extra $2000 for that package. It did have the navigation upgrade option, dealer paid for that.
I just bought the 2012 Focus Titanium this Summer and I love it. If only I knew how to drive a stick I would have totally held out for getting one of these 2013 ST models, they look amazing.

I guess it's getting harder and harder to find a friend with a man tran but it really does only take a few hours (max) to get the hang of it.
I drove a manual transmission car for 10+ years but it was a PITA in traffic and I didn't miss it when I got my last couple of automatics for the last 10 years. I would switch back to manual now. I don't have a 40+ mile commute any more so it wouldn't be as annoying as it had become previously.
The power and recaros of the ST had me a bit upset I went with the GTI until I got to see them in person. I just feel they are too...boyish. I feel somewhat mature in my GTI, its not loud or obnoxious. I feel like it looks sensible, which I like. If only I could learn to drive it sensibly...and not go Stage 1.For now, I'll stick with my GTI..even if the numbers on the spec sheet are stacked against it, I felt like it was more fun to drive and much more mature on the inside.

To the people who did get the STs, congrats. I'm waiting to get a drive in one, my local Ford dealer only got one and they said the person who came to get it scared the salesman with his enthusiastic driving.
Finally got my car last night (Oxford White, fully loaded/ST3). Coming from a 2007 VW Rabbit/Golf I have to say it's really awesome hearing the growl when I push the accelerator a bit. The power feels great and the car is damn fun to drive. The MKVs still look good to me thanks to their classic design but the ST looks and feels like a spaceship in comparison. The gadget nerd in me has 0 problems with this.
This is my first car with a turbo and my first car with HID headlamps. I was driving home at night and started freaking out because I thought I was blinding everyone with my highbeams. Yeah, HIDs/Xenons are freaking bright but I'm loving the clarity.
I'm hoping to put my winter wheels on today and hoping to get the tint on ASAP (I can't live without this). Pics will follow soon. My car is filthy since I told the dealer not to touch it and it's getting cold out. If any one has any winter detailing tips, I'm open to some PMs.
