So wish the Titaniums got the projectors and the LED's (not necessarily the ST styling, but at least the projectors and LED's). It'd help with the more upscale look of the titanium seeing as there's not much difference between the SE and the Titanium (they can be nearly configured identical).

Riverhound, did your MFT come with the latest update?

Not it has 3.34. I have 3.5 downloaded and on a drive ready to install. I just need to find time. I'll probably take a long drive next weekend and install it then. Needs an hour with the car running to update. Did come with the A4 Nav SD card though.

Well, this happened much faster than I imagined. Bought a Focus ST, mostly. It just needs to get shipped over from the dealer it's at. 201a package + moonroof.

Welcome to the club. There's a couple of good Focus ST forums of you're interested. FocusST.org and FordSTnation.com.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Supposed to get the car today. Apparently it has 201a, moonroof, & navigation. I didn't want navigation, but the car they were selling me was apparently damaged and this is the next closest thing, and they will discount the price such that the navigation option is free. Sounds good to me, but I am a little paranoid that they are trying to do something else here since the manager said something about "oh we also just need to sign a few papers" when as far as I thought everything was set and done already.

The whole deal is going to be off if they are trying to increase my interest rate or something. Hopefully it's just something to establish that I am buying a slightly different car from what was originally planned.

Sometimes it feels like you need a lawyer to buy a new car

I worked in car sales 13 years ago. The dealer I worked at did some shady crap, so I am always extra paranoid when buying cars. Knock on wood, but none of the dealers I have bought from were nearly as bad as the one I worked at.

I got a call from my salesperson an hour ago confirming the car was on their lot now and getting cleaned up, ready for delivery in two hours. Sounds like it's all coming together.

nice car.... is that the ST3 package with the xenons?

friend of mine is searching for one while his lease is expiring with ST2 ... are they still selling for over sticker?

and yeah i feel you on car dealers. i've bought 4 new cars in the last 10 years or so, and even though the salesmen i eventually ended up with a decent person, it usually required me going through multiple places with lots of shady characters before i got to that point , so i'm always having to be on guard when dealing with a new salesman. i guess its all just part of the process, sales people in general in every industry aren't exactly the most transparent people.

It's an ST2 package, no HID lights. Would have been nice, but couldn't justify paying an extra $2000 for that package. It did have the navigation upgrade option, dealer paid for that.

ah nice yeah, i hate how HIDs are bundled with all that other stuff. realized you had the two tone seats so had to be ST2. looks great by the way in black... i've only seen it up close in yellow and it looks way better in black...

I just bought the 2012 Focus Titanium this Summer and I love it. If only I knew how to drive a stick I would have totally held out for getting one of these 2013 ST models, they look amazing.

I guess it's getting harder and harder to find a friend with a man tran but it really does only take a few hours (max) to get the hang of it.

I drove a manual transmission car for 10+ years but it was a PITA in traffic and I didn't miss it when I got my last couple of automatics for the last 10 years. I would switch back to manual now. I don't have a 40+ mile commute any more so it wouldn't be as annoying as it had become previously.

 Very nice! I'd like to hear your impressions after a few weeks driving it as I'm really considering buying one of these in the next few months.

IMHO it is worth it just for the HID's, but everyone weighs the options differently.

I really love this car, just wish it was AWD... turbo, hot hatch, but no AWD, almost has the trifecta. but against the GTI, ms3, etc, it is a great option

i can drive it, but i just don't think its worth it depending on your commuter / where you live. i'd love it if i had 2 cars though.

For now, I'll stick with my GTI..even if the numbers on the spec sheet are stacked against it, I felt like it was more fun to drive and much more mature on the inside.
The power and recaros of the ST had me a bit upset I went with the GTI until I got to see them in person. I just feel they are too...boyish. I feel somewhat mature in my GTI, its not loud or obnoxious. I feel like it looks sensible, which I like. If only I could learn to drive it sensibly...and not go Stage 1.

To the people who did get the STs, congrats. I'm waiting to get a drive in one, my local Ford dealer only got one and they said the person who came to get it scared the salesman with his enthusiastic driving.

the focus ST i think is a pretty great car, it just depends on how you option it. I agree that the recaros CAN look boy racerish if you get the 2 tone seats. they come in black too though.

if you get a ST like the OPs in say black , with normal seats i don't think it looks all that much different from a normal focus. but if you get a tangerine scream yellow/orange one with black and orange seats (like edmunds insideline did) well ok thats slightly different.

the GTI generally is more mature looking. but yeah i think its less fun. also its a VW product so it'll probably turn into a reliability nightmare (i admit i am biased i just sold my A4, which has the same engine as the GTI , which burns oil in certain years at an Audi is rebuilding engine blocks sort of rate).

Finally got my car last night (Oxford White, fully loaded/ST3). Coming from a 2007 VW Rabbit/Golf I have to say it's really awesome hearing the growl when I push the accelerator a bit. The power feels great and the car is damn fun to drive. The MKVs still look good to me thanks to their classic design but the ST looks and feels like a spaceship in comparison. The gadget nerd in me has 0 problems with this.

This is my first car with a turbo and my first car with HID headlamps. I was driving home at night and started freaking out because I thought I was blinding everyone with my highbeams. Yeah, HIDs/Xenons are freaking bright but I'm loving the clarity.

I'm hoping to put my winter wheels on today and hoping to get the tint on ASAP (I can't live without this). Pics will follow soon. My car is filthy since I told the dealer not to touch it and it's getting cold out. If any one has any winter detailing tips, I'm open to some PMs.

Just make sure it has a good coat of wax and wash the salt off the underbody and paint after a snow once the roads are dry.
