Why is Dave always the 1st response to every topic he starts?
Forgetful? Split personality?

Not good news for the economy, but not unexpected either. After all, elections have consequences.

This is not meant as a personal attack, but it will sound like one.

Dave has the mentality of a loser. He persistently sees the negative in all things because it confirms his generally negative outlook on the world. On some level I think he actively wants bad things to happen for this same reason.

Based on the miserable life that McOwen'd has had, the misery of others makes him feel better.

So we can safely assume Dave is the liberal version of Anarchist, Incorruptible, etc. right? Gloom and doom and Fema camps and RFiD chips and all? Sounds about right. This is the problem folks. We need the reasonable people in the middle making good decisions so these people are not ever given power again. Be smart, don't vote for a party, vote for issues that are important to you.

Tmobile -- Layoffs related to mergers are normal.

JCP -- They are on the way out... are you going to post about Kmart and Sears layoffs too?

Best Buy -- Also on the way out.

U.S. Job Cuts Rise 37% in February

Layoffs planned by U.S.-based companies jumped 37% in February from the previous month, driven by job cuts in the financial sector

U.S.-based employers in February said they planned to cut 55,356 jobs, 7% more than the same period a year ago.

3,000 job cuts planned by United Technologies Corp. (UTX), which may foreshadow further layoffs by aerospace and defense companies as wide government spending cuts--known as the sequester--take effect.

Why do you keep leaving this part of the article out of your posts?

But the cuts continued to be offset by more hiring.

So you're saying McOwned is suffering from Octorectitus*?

*Octorectitus is when the nerves in your eyes get crossed up with in the nerves in your rectum and you have a shitty outlook on life.

I am at 8% interest on my 401k so far this year and the first quarter has yet to end - looks like it is going to be a great year!

Big layoffs at T-Mobile headquarters, ahead of merger

A significant round of layoffs is happening at the Bellevue headquarters of T-Mobile USA just ahead of its merger with MetroPCS, according to people inside the company.

Employees are expecting the cuts, which may affect more than 100 people in marketing and other groups, to happen Thursday, when conference rooms at the company are reserved for “integration” meetings.

T-Mobile declined to comment.

T-Mobile has been steadily reducing the size of its workforce in recent years through restructuring and consolidation of its call centers, but it largely has spared the Bellevue headquarters, where the highest-paid jobs are located. Last year more than 4,200 jobs were cut, including 3,300 at call centers and a later round of 900 across the company

This has nothing to do with the economy and is all about T-mobile merging with MetroPCS. They are eliminating redundant positions ahead of the merger.

So we all agree that the economy is doing pretty good under Obama. Dave has done his job then.

Nah, it is just that he has been unable to stop the normal ebb and flow of the economy.

In order for there to be a crash nobody can be expecting it :awe:

So the responses seem in line with "never saw it coming."

Basically the way I see it, the piss poor shape of the economy forced everyone to live frugally. Because corporations tend to be more efficient through the economics of scale (plus all the tax breaks :awe led to MORE consumerism. Everyone I know does so much more shopping at target/walmart/amazon than ever before.

So yea, the stock market is at highs because everyone flocked to corporations to save a couple bucks. As food and gas keeps rising and wages stay stagnant where are people gonna pinch from now eh? I really can't see the way things are now lasting for much longer.

ECRI Still Insists We’re In A Recession–We Just Don’t Know It Yet

Eighteen months ago, in September 2011, the Economic Cycle Research Institute made a startling call:

"The U.S. economy is... tipping into a recession. And there's nothing that policy makers can do to head it off."

In support of this position, ECRI Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer Lakshman Achuthan points out correctly that the timing of recessions is often determined only with the benefit of hindsight--often through revisions of prior numbers that initially did not show a recession. Achuthan thinks that, when the final revisions are in, they will show a recession that began in mid-2012.

Achuthan also points to several other measures that he says are consistent with recessions. This data, in his opinion, illustrates that the economy is in fact in a recession.

Ultimately, the distinction between a "recession" and a "crappy economy" is only important in economic forecasting circles, and our economy is certainly crappy. So the key question that most Americans want answered is "When is it going to get better?"

Unfortunately, ECRI's Achuthan does not have an answer for that. All he can say is that he doesn't expect it to get better anytime soon.

Obama is gonna make all those rich bastards pay so there is absolutely no need to worry. He's got four whole years ahead of him to fundamentally transform us. With a Dem controlled house in 2014 and Pelosi back at the helm, well, the goodness will be overwhelming.

Get every member of the household on unemployment, pop out some kids and let the good times roll. The rich can probably bankroll all of this forever I'm guessing.

Oh, and don't turn in those guns too early. There's a good possibility that the .gov will pay more for them at a later date. Sell high, it's how the evil rich bastards made their money.

Most importantly, trust in Our Father, Who art in the White House
