2013 Salary Raises

I got no raise because I was promoted in November and apparently you wouldn't want to reward an employee for good performance twice in one year or anything.

Just got this job in Sept so no raise yet. I did go up 25% and increased my vacation time by moving to this job though.

10% became effective on my Jan. paycheck. Was surprised, raises haven't been seen there in many years. My assumption though was it just brought me inline with my co-workers pay.

I got a 3.5% raise, there about. Don't have the exact number in front of me. Got bumped up to 3 weeks vacation as well. It's not great but I've only been here a year so far. Plus the broadcast industry in Toronto hasn't been doing so hot lately. 60 some odd people just got laid off this morning when one of the 24hour news stations shut down.

I've been lucky enough to get some nice raises over the last couple of years so don't expect much. Will find out next week but am hoping for ~5% and hope for a bit of a bonus.

I don't understand why people stay at jobs where they haven't received raises in years unless you're getting HUGE bonuses or something. I've been out of school 20 years and I've never NOT gotten a raise. I'll probably get a great review this year but a crappy 2% or 3% raise. I wanted to ask for a big raise but I decided I am just going to leave later this year instead.

I support the govt in a consulting role.... I already got told my raise is going to suck....

I find out middle of July... pretty pissed off about it to be honest...

I do IT consulting.

Got a promotion, raise was about 9.5%. We usually get a small bonus during the year.

Not everyone has the luxury of having tons of good paying jobs around them, they may be loyal to the company or like what they do where they work.

I got an excellent review and a high (for the company) raise. It was the lowest raise I've ever gotten anywhere.

Just got 22% raise. Switched jobs a year ago and was brought in low, but I've doubled my salary from 1 year ago today so I'm rather happy in my career currently.

20% raise and job promotion. Another ~20% at the end of the year or early next year if I stay at my current company and get the opening position and raise.

Sounds like a lot of people are getting bank this year. I honestly have no idea if I'm underpaid or overpaid. I've tried to look at similar jobs elsewhere, but I get no salary range.

In January I got a 13% raise (changed job positions), got a ~6% bonus in February, and this summer there is a 2% "cost of living" increase and also a raise, don't know how much of a raise, but it should be decent. Not a bad year.

The promotion takes me out of overtime ranks and into bonus level positions.

35% + working 1/2 the year instead of 2/3 of it. though, 35 days at a time and the ~10,000 mile commute is a little bit abnormal.

I wouldn't be surprised if his management is getting all sorts of perks and bonuses.

It's called having some self respect. I know people that work for a very large PC/printer company. Most had not gotten raises in years and the company even suspended 401k contributions at one point. Yet these guys clung on to their jobs year after year rather than even testing the waters. Of course the execs were getting their huge paychecks, golden parachutes, etc. This is in a fairly large city with lots of other opportunities as well.
