3.85%, but my company does semi-annual reviews so hopefully I'll get another ~3-4% in 6 months

I don't think those sites are that accurate. People who make more are more willing to share their salaries.

I've always thought of it the other way. People browsing glassdoor are underpaid, or at least they thing they are. In order to browse you have to contribute something so there are far more underpaid people that want to browse than well paid people.

Plus 2 out of 3 offers I've gotten since being aware of glassdoor were above the reported range and the third was above the average.

Won't know for a while. Last year the majority of the company got 0. This year? I am not expecting much. Most probably won't even get enough of an increase to cover the tax and Obamacare increases; let alone CoL.

It could be a good excuse to move on though, so it's not all bad :whiste:

Someday you reach a point where you are happy with your salary. I'm actually starting to tip towards I want to work less and be paid less, lol.

I'm in that boat now. My job is stressful at times but I generally refuse to work more than 40 hours per week. I could leave and make more elsewhere, but I'm not sure it is worth it if I'm working 60 hours per week to do it. So at the end of the day, maybe I should just put my head down, work, collect my 3% raise every year, and be happy.

4.8% raise and 7.5% bonus. I am happy with the bonus but was expecting a larger raise as I had the highest rating/scoring in my office (150+ employees) and my sales were about 4 times compared to last year.

Had to turn down a handful of -20% local offers and an offer equiv to 2 yrs ago.

Held out and at last minute got same offer as I had at the beginning of year but with 25% OT or more. COLA is less also.

Highest performance rating since starting with this company (8 years ago).

Developer of the technology that enables our newest contract; a contract worth double that of what we normally consider a "huge" contract.

Second lowest raise ever received (the first year raise was the lowest). Still, 40% higher than the average raise... but not good enough. I plan to leave within the next four months.

That huge contract that we pulled in... my company is screwed when I leave. If they want me to stay, we start by doubling my salary... and that's just to get me to the table.

19% raise with a promotion earlier in the year, but it's meant taking work home with me more than usual - I've been working six days a week just to keep up until someone I just hired to take over my old role can start and get up to speed. Still, definitely no complaints.

thanks for all the replies!

To get a better idea of "market rate", can you guys suggest any other sites besides:

salary.com
indeed.com

? Like some other sites where I can put in my zip code and title and see what the "average" is. Thanks.

I took a 15% decrease because I hated my former job. Sometimes it's not about the money.

Got the highest rating for my pay grade and got 0% raise, yay! I did get a 4.5% bonus and leave the company immediately after getting my bonus so the raise didn't matter much either way.

heh awesome.

grass is always greener... I love my job but the lack of money hurts, specifically in terms of morale. Not getting what you're worth does not feel good.

I've had to make what I call "strategic retreats" in the past as well and have taken cuts in pay before. It sucks, but sometimes you're not left with any choice. I'm really not happy at my current company (not a good cultural fit, don't enjoy the work) but I am trying to hold out and find something with more money to make up for the excellent benefits. In all likelihood, I'm probably just going to have to take some contracts in order to make that kind of money.

When they told me that I just started to laugh. Hell, I even told my boss to tell the company they can keep. As I know they are hurting since they just announced record profits for the company.

Yes I am a little bitter right now.

Hahahahahaha....and forever on.

Everyone thinks that they are worth more than they are paid. The fact is...you don't provide as much worth as you think you do. You are paid appropriately, and your x% raise is exactly what you deserve.

The problem is many companies are probably under letters of intent so they are cleaning up the books. As bad as the average joe thinks the economy is, big business is killing it.
