2013 Steam Autumn Sale: DEAD!!

I did probably 15 playthroughs of Blands1 and untold Craw/Armory farms. Haven't been able to get past 35 hours in Blands2. It just felt like I was looting for the sake of looting and none of my loot was actually useful. That said the game was still fun. I still easily got my money out of it. But it didn't hook me like 1 did.

To make things fair I'll give bl2 another try.

I will get more than 5 hours and go from there. So I'll play this evening, make some progress and see if the game gets any better.

From the few hours I played of bl2 I was not impressed.

Just don't play Commando, you will inevitably be bored...

well, to be fair, they are all identical until level 5, anyway. I have the least experience with Commando, but it is, by far, the least popular class in the forums. I think I got mine to level 9 or 10 (yeah, not really enough time to get into it--here I am making that same argument).

I would suggest Gunzerker or Siren. Gunzerking is brainless fun. Maya isn't quite as good as Lilith in BL1, but she comes into her own very late in the game.

Also, the story doesn't really kick in until the first couple of missions after you get to Sanctuary (level 8ish). If you put some time in with the various classes in BL1, I think there will be enough in the story to pull you through at least one playthrough of BL2.

I barely trudged through beating BL once but happily finished BL2 twice at least. I couldn't care less about loot in either game, but the better atmosphere and humor and voice acting and story in 2 really made the game for me.

Commando is most boring, and IMHO assassin is hardest at low levels because your skill doesn't help much. At low levels Siren with the middle tree life orbs, Gunzerker, or Mechromancer are all better choices.

That's sort of how I feel as well. I did two playthroughs of BL1 and then immediately bought BL2 (I was late playing the first one). I have been playing BL2 solid for at least a year now and I still am having fun with it.

Just got the Dragon Age pack on Steam for $7.50. Didn't enjoy the console version much so I thought what the heck. Been spending scads of hours on Wizardry 8. Remember that? Another recent Steam release. Didn't have the patience a decade ago. Nor did ever get around to Baldurs Gate which I also got on Steam. Reliving my childhood lol.

I wouldn't be so sure. All of the previous daily deals started with 48 hour timers. However today's deals started with a 24 hour timer. So all indications are that Steam is completely done at 10am PST tomorrow.

There is one bonus tomb, it's the only piece of content I'd recommend getting.

The rest is MP stuff and pay-2-win style instant skill upgrades for SP.
