With the coupon, they certainly can be.

Ok then dishonored is my final steam payment of the day then even though the only game on my list is saint rows 4.

Edit: Dishonored price changed but seeing the screw up it will definitely be a daily deal at some point.

The problem with Steam Sales is that I end up saying, this is so cheap why not buy it?

I can buy the Wizardry package that includes Wizardry 6, 7, and 8 for $3.75. That is like 400 hours of gaming that I'll enjoy for less than the cost of my latte.

And then I look at the 134 unplayed games in my Steam library and think, "at least I drank my latte."

Oh well. Steam just got me for a 4 pack of Hammerwatch. Gifting them to my SO and kids, Even if we play it for a few hours it is cheaper than taking them to the movies and we will actually interact more playing this.

I'll probably buy Wizardry before the sale is over as well.

Don't forget the texture pack from Steam, even though you will probably mod in higher res textures over it

And BTW that mod is pretty fun.

Cool I didn't know there were texture packs. I liked the ones in Farcry. Should be nice, thanks

I recommend SKyrim HD--I still don't use the official texture pack, though I think it has since been fixed? (horribly inefficient on release). Either way, I think they will work together, you load the official pack first, then HD will replace some textures with better ones. Also consider downloading W.A.T.E.R. --I think that is what it's called.

Apachii Hair, or whatever it is called--hair looks much better, but it still doesn't move. I think there is a mod that will add realistic motion, but I'm not sure what is the best for that.

Also, for eye candy and immersion:

Climates of Tamriel. Get all of those
Sounds of Skyrim. all of those packs

Frostfall

....you have to get Frostfall. add Wet and Cold to this, as well as Cloaks of Skyrim.

Edit: Don't forget Sky UI! The most important mod out there.

Might Grab Sleeping Dogs as well, any of the DLc's worth it?

The Year of the Snake is supposed to be the most interesting/best DLC. I have it, but did not played the game yet.

How's the Skyrim PC port? I heard it was bad when it first came out, is that true or has it improved with patches?

How's the controller support?

It works pretty well, controls are quite good too, no complaints.

It's amazing. Skyrim was kinda bad for all systems when it first came out, in terms of bugs, but that is how Bethesda does things :\ The real problem with PC Skyrim, though, is that it suffered under some console-based design decisions. A good bit of which has been fixed in mods, some of it is just unfixable.

You don't want to use a gamepad for it, though. Not sure why for this type of game, as combat is two buttons anyway, and you can hotkey things like you never can with a gamepad. (OK, you can pretty much do that to your keyboard and still use the gamepad to move around and swing your sword, suppose)

I forgot to mention earlier, the single most important mod:

Sky UI--you absolutely need this on PC. It replaces the utter shit console-styled UI with one designed for PC. On top of replacing the useless vanilla menus with ones that actually work (for, you know, finding gear), this allows you to sort groups of items into useful categories within each type, organize them on name, enchanted, type, whatever. It also sets up hotkeys and "Groups" that you can map to Function keys or other buttons--a "group" can be full weapon set, spells, with armor pieces, as well as secondary weapons within that group--the ones that you generally quick swap with 1-4. (Actually, not sure about that last part. need to try it out)

I'll check them out. I have no issues with Uplay unlike some, so that doesn't bother me.

Look on hardforum. Plenty of AC4 for $20, or AC4 + SC Blacklist for $30. Maybe less if you get lucky. Where I got mine.

Think I'm going to pick up Skyrim LE on Steam, AC3 Deluxe and Far Cry 3/Blood Dragon combo on Amazon when they drop to $15ea on 11/29.

Had my first near miss.
Went to buy Sleeping Dogs but Steam reminded me I already owned it.

The prices for individual Skyrim DLC sucks. All I want is Dragonborn and Dawnguard, as I have the base game.

If buying them individually: $10 x 2 = 20. But the LE includes everything for $20, so I might as well buy that. Seems like the DLC should be $7.50 or so.

Well so far I've survived the initial onslaught since all of the games I would be interested in I've already purchased. Sleeping Dogs is one hell of a deal and one hell of a game as is Skyrim once you mod it properly, especially the Legendary edition. Call me odd but I'm hoping for a deeper discount than 25% off Injustice Ultimate Edition, been wanting another fighter for my PC other than Super Street Fighter IV.

Yes, that is really disappointing. I was aiming for those prices as well...even $5 each. Not sure what to do, really. I assume I will at least get Dawnguard + Hearthfire when I get home...but If I do just grab and LE, what do I do wtih that extra game? I don't know anyone to give it to, and I can't really sell it for that price as I would keep the DLC for myself.

This same kind of odd sale existed for Borderlands 2 last week, on Amazon, but in Reverse order.

IRRC, the GOTY was on sale for $29. (normally $50, I think)

Or, you could buy base game ($7) + Season Pass (all of the DLC included in GOTY) $10 + the 2 additional playable characters $5 total (normally $20 total). This is the exact same content as GOTY

That isn't exactly what it was, but I know that it ended up being about 9 dollars cheaper than buying GOTY.

I do not think that you can take only the DLC's from the Skyrim Legendary Edition and keep the Skyrim itself as a gift (for sale).

I thought I was safe, but then I ended up getting hammerwatch for local co-op with the SO.

Had my first near miss.

You should play it sometime. It was surprisingly good. My friend bought it for me as a gift, and I went expecting something mediocre. It turned out to be one of my favorite games this gen.

Skyrim Vanilla for $7 vs Legendary $21

Is the DLC worth 2x the cost of the main game?

I have played zero Skyrim
