How's the Skyrim PC port? I heard it was bad when it first came out, is that true or has it improved with patches?
How's the controller support?
It's amazing. Skyrim was kinda bad for all systems when it first came out, in terms of bugs, but that is how Bethesda does things :\ The real problem with PC Skyrim, though, is that it suffered under some console-based design decisions. A good bit of which has been fixed in mods, some of it is just unfixable.
You don't want to use a gamepad for it, though. Not sure why for this type of game, as combat is two buttons anyway, and you can hotkey things like you never can with a gamepad. (OK, you can pretty much do that to your keyboard and still use the gamepad to move around and swing your sword, suppose)
I forgot to mention earlier, the single most important mod:
Sky UI--you absolutely
need this on PC. It replaces the utter shit console-styled UI with one designed for PC. On top of replacing the useless vanilla menus with ones that actually work (for, you know, finding gear), this allows you to sort groups of items into useful categories within each type, organize them on name, enchanted, type, whatever. It also sets up hotkeys and "Groups" that you can map to Function keys or other buttons--a "group" can be full weapon set, spells, with armor pieces, as well as secondary weapons within that group--the ones that you generally quick swap with 1-4. (Actually, not sure about that last part. need to try it out)
