I just played Gone Home. It's not really a proper game; rather, it's a vehicle for telling a short, but deeply emotional story. It will probably take you about an hour and a half to finish - so it's very quick. But I was very touched by the storyline. If you ever played Dear Esther, it's pretty much the exact same thing. You walk around and slowly unravel the story through the environment.

If you didn't like Dear Esther, then you certainly won't like Gone Home. But if you enjoy that kind of experience, I recommend it for sure. I wouldn't say it's worth $20, but for a fiver, I can appreciate this kind of "game".

Here's hoping XCom enemy within will get discounted. The Australian retail price of $50 is ridiculous.

The vanilla game is worth $60. I'm about to pay $20 just for the DLC< and I've already put 400 hours into this game.

Depends on how you look at it. You are paying twice the price of the main game for less content, so from that standpoint it is not a good deal. OTOH, 20.00 is not a lot of money so the legendary edition is a great deal. I have the main game, but may pick up the dragonborn dlc. That is the only one that interests me really.

Only if he ends up liking the game enough to motivate him to flesh it out a bit with the DLC. That's information we don't have yet. If he ends up not liking the game, buying the DLC now (as opposed to just the base game) would be a waste of $14 as I believe that there is nothing in the DLC that might cause someone who is inclined to not like Skyrim to change opinion.

So Company of Heroes 2 is on sale, but of course the 'Theater of War' DLC mission packs are not. To be honest, I don't have 2 wooden nickels to rub together for another week, so even $10 is too much to pay right now. Since Sega has bought Relic and started DLC'ing us gamers to death, I say Sega can S.M.D.

Not buying any of the DLC B.S. for that game, at least at their full price. FFS, I paid $100 for the DCE pre-order and I got one extra ToW pack for that. Never again.

Bioshock Infinite is a separate story, you don't need to have played 1 or 2. It's also more story-driven than what I played of 1 (didn't finish it) which was more of a FPS with story vs. a story with FPS.

Thanks for the link. Snatched it up. It was one of my favorite games on Xbox 360 even though grass appeared in front of you as you walked (like one foot in front....) When I noticed that the game got hard to play.

Yeah it's called Teksavvy. Or there is start.ca, acanac etc.

That's the one I'm looking at (Teksavvy). They're actually $10/month cheaper than Rogers -- $20/month if I go with the slightly slower speed and 25% smaller bandwidth cap.

Might have to give them a call to see how easy an arrangement it would be to hook a cable service up.

Bioshock: Infinite looks interesting. May have missed it, but it might be back on the last day.

Yeah I agree.. so far have bought more from the "other than steam" links posted in this thread than the steam sale

Im also looking for Metro LL at around 66-75%.
