SR4 is a Steamworks game, so one way or another you have to get a Steam code out of it.

is it me or do these steam deals look turrible compared to the amazon deals?

it seems that way every other sale or two. Honestly, the steam sales haven't been all that compelling for a while. From my perspective, the only good one over the last 1+ years was the most recent summer sale.

This is just the "fall sale" anyway, which, I don't think they always do. Pretty sure they didn't have it last year. Only the Christmas sale.

I think it has more to do with most of "us" already own all the games that are getting deep discounts and we are waiting on newer games to get those same deep discounts, which..is less likely to happen for a year or so.

Is it worth paying 3x the Skyrim price to get the DLC for it? Skyrim for $7.49 looks like a steal but adding on the DLC makes it 3x more, and the reviews for the DLC's are meh.

but, to be truly honest, anyone would get plenty of playtime out of the base game without DLC

You're going to mod it to hell, anyway, when you get it. ...and some of those mods are basically like DLC packs, or better, and they are free.

Don't forget what I mentioned about the DLC. It's only $1.79 more to get the DLC versus 9.97 more without the package. The DLC is not on sale at all. :\

While I agree that is a great deal (in fact I'm thinking of buying one myself), if you only need Skyrim the Legendary Edition is $20 while the Anthology is $30.

No. Each one takes place in a different time period and part of the ES world. There might be lore references you miss but that's about it.
