2013 Steam Holiday Sale! SALE IS OVER

I actually SPENT money on this sale, and picked up stuff that cost more than my usual $5 limit too. I know, big spender.

I picked up Anno 2070, Endless Space, and Gnomoria.

My son got like $70 in steam wallet cards for Xmas, and ended up spending some of it on RPG Maker DLC packs (like $17 or so). I think he banked the rest though, not exactly sure what he wants to pick up.

To be fair though, HumbleBundle and the like has really spoiled me. I have something like 200+ games on my account, probably half of which I haven't even gotten a chance to play yet.

A little disappointed some of the game bundles did not go on deep discount.

well, I had no idea that XP = bonus packages that actually mean game content, and that badges were tied to that.

I actually sold my snowglobes as soon as I got them, have sold all of my extras, and was about to sell every card in my pile.

Now, maybe I will just use the ~0.98 in my wallet to buy the summer cards that I need and at least create that badge?

Yeah I sent a bitch note to steam when they locked me out for changing my payment method. The really absurd thing is tt while they lock you from the market you can still buy anything from the store with thos locked payment method.

It's to prevent money laundering. Unless you're a games publisher, being able to buy games off of the store won't help you launder money to yourself.

That's what I assume is happening every time I look at the history of an item that sells for $0.10, but has one purchase for $200.

Zin if you're wanting/trying to increase your Steam level that's your easiest/cheapest option right now. You need 10 Summer Sale cards to craft a badge (which you can do 5 times). Each badge is 100XP. With Summer Sale cards going for $0.05-$0.06 each you can craft a badge by spending $.50-$.60. Plus you get some stuff from crafting the badge (background, emoticon) that you might be able to sell for a few pennies.....

yes, I'm just now learning that--the 2 cards that I need, unfortunately, are not for sale on the market (Prison Architect and Football Manager) I think they are the same as Parkplace or Illinois avenue Monopoly pieces...

I tried to play Anno 2070 after buying it earlier today and it seems they've run out of serials :\ apparently this happened with the game last year too. So after installing it in Steam, I tried to launch it and got "unable to contact key server" or whatever.

Lame.

I'm still kicking myself because I chose the Metro: Last Light Season Pass over DOOM 3 BFG Edition, which was one of the top games on my list for the sale. That Last Light went on-sale again later, but DOOM 3 did not, annoyed me greatly. That, and I REALLY wanted to get some Unreal and Quake into my library, but no dice. I wanted and RTS, but I couldn't find one of those, either.

All-in-all, decent stuff for my first sale. I have plenty to play for the near-future, though not as much as I wanted to get.
