I picked up Costume Quest (Double Fine) and wow, I love this game. It's a great quirky J-ish RPG. Kinda reminds me of Earthbound. It's more or less in the same style as the Precipice of Darkness games (1 and 2). I do wish it had some voice acting, as it really seems to be missing it, but then..I suppose if the voice acting sucked it would take away from it.

Mount and Blade Warband is pretty damn cool. Bought this on a whim, and having a blast with it. The way the horse controls should be copied by any game wanting to use horses; so intuitive and smooth I was darting down streets in a city at different speeds, slowing to talk to people, without spinning around or running into anything.

It is old though (how did I never hear of this?). Graphics are dated, and AI is chancy at times, but I think I'm going to sink many hours into this.

It's a kids' game some adults can enjoy.

It's a light-hearted casual game with basic gameplay, hunting objects, collecting, with some simply occassional 'boss fights'.

I both enjoyed its fun running around and felt it was very grindy and tedious at times.

So I both give it a limited recommendation to people who are open to that type of game while not recommending it to many gamers. It's a 'take a look and see if you like it' game.

I don't think it's grindy at all, but yes, I do think the subject matter is one that kids would enjoy too. The running around is pretty par for the course for games in general and rpgs especially. It's definitely not for everyone, but fans of eastern rpg's (read not D&D type stuff) will probably enjoy it for what it is. I do get the impression it's not very long, but the different costumes for fighting are entertaining and add some variation to the gameplay.

I had no problem with the length, and I'm not comparing the 'grindiness' to other games but just to how I felt about this game. It got to be a chore at times.

Overall, I'm glad I got it and played it, but it was a sort of guilty pleasure where I'd be cautios about recommending it. It had a charm, it was a labor of love.

Why am I so torn about Antichamber...I could see myself loving it, but from some of the reviews I could see myself playing it for 15 minutes and hating it. Then again, I could just wait until the xmas sale and buy it for $3.

Buy it. Reward a great game for unique design. It takes a while to warm up to it but it's a heck of a game.

Got Orcs Must Die 2. Loved the first one.

Any thoughts on Cities in Motion 2? I never played the original but it sounds interesting and I got some spare cash to snag a few titles.

If I loved Portal / Portal 2 would I like this game? Or is it not even similar?

It's not similar. It's a creative puzzle game, meant to sort of mess with you. It's only similar in that Portal also sometimes gives you a puzzle to figure out a room.

Unless you really like a traffice management game, I'd suggest there's better to get first.
