Euro Truck Simulator 2 (This was an interesting game to me for some reason, to try)

I bit on this one for $10 as well based on curiosity and haven't been disappointed.

At first I thought it was crazy to buy a game like this, but after playing it for 10 hours I'm quite impressed.

From a technical standpoint they give a crap how the game performs. Sure, it isn't the best graphics but they are adequate and it runs quite well on low end gear. Alt-tabbing and futzing around with the internet streaming stations doesn't crash the game.

There is something to be said hauling sawdust from Torino to Zurich while listening to AC/DC as you scan your side mirrors.

It's a well executed game for what it is.

Though there were many excellent games released in the past 12 months my Steam Summer sale is very modest. Prices still havent gone down to the level where I would be comfortable in buying them. I anticipate buying the likes of Dishonored, Xcom, Tomb Raider or Bioshock Infinite this Winter sale when their prices will be around the 5-7.5 USD range.

Bought:
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition - Gosh dang forgot what a great game it is, sunk 40 hours already
Hotline Miami - At 2.50 USD totally worth it. Something that only a indie developer can offer

With the Y's series on sale, I don't think they look very fun to me, but thinking of trying one since many like them, is oath the best one to get?

Oath is my favorite, but overall it's harder and less linear than the Origin. You also get three playable characters in Origin, and only one in Oath. I don't own Chronicles I and II and I agree they don't look as good. There's a decent thread here that explains some of the differences between Oath and Origin. If you google a bit there are similar threads elsewhere. Personally, I really liked Oath (not just out of the Ys series, but compared to other games in general) for the challenge, the gameplay (you need to reset the key bindings to really maximize this -- again, google is your friend here), the story, and the epic boss fights.

How does the game handle drives that should take 10 hours? They cut out long boring stretches? Speed things up? Or you have to drive the whole way?

It speeds up. You start off running routes a maximum of around 150 miles or so. I would say it takes around 20 - 30 minutes depending on getting out/into a dock and where it is at in the city.

The cities/geography are definitely not accurate and many are a cookie cutter design, but they try to throw a landmark or two in.

I really enjoyed playing Oath in the past buuut it was a pirated copy since I decided to try out the game based off the interesting visuals. Was not disappointed. Put quite a few hours into it but work/school came up and I went back to only playing multiplayer games with people. When I saw it on the flash sale I knew immediately I had to get it

Also picking up Origin due to the sale.

Trion is a bunch of bitches; put Defiance on sale for $15 during the Steam Summer Sale then immediately drop MSRP to $10 afterwards. Not getting any more of my money.

How often are these humble bundles posted? Was thinking of buying Shogun 2, but $30 is a bit much.

Try steamprices.com or cheapshark.com. The first tracks steam prices. So you can see how often these deals appear, e.g. on weekends. The latter can be searched for current deals on a handful sites.
