We were at Verizon Center for the Preds/Caps game on Saturday. Had a good time. The people seemed nice enough, especially when we kept standing up and cheering as the Preds went up 3-0. Ended up being a good game.

FYI, if you didn't already know, Ovechkin with the puck is scary.

Hope it just ends up stitches. They did mention in the 3rd that his eye was OK and looked to be just skin that got cut. Miller hasn't missed a game in nearly 2 seasons. Would hate to see his streak broken. He's a penalty killing beast.

Habs are one of the worst teams in the playoffs. Without Price, they are a playoff bubble team, not one of the top teams in the league.

I've not looking recently, but i think only Calgary has worse possesion numbers, and the Flames in the playoffs is beyond a joke.

That said, Price could steal a series, so they could very well make it to the second round anyway.

Last night was rather frustrating. Was so hoping that either the Sens or Panthers could make it to 8th at the expense of the Boston Guins, but sadly nope.

Part of that is DC sports fans are hopeless after being beat down for almost 25 years that we don't tend to take sports as serious as we use to.
Glad to see you had a fun time.

That's too bad. I was really hoping to hear that D.C. fans are just hospitable to visiting ones kinda like we are in Nashville. (Unless you're the Blackhawks of course...)

Getting down the the wire in the playoff race. Ottawa lost to Toronto in a shoot-out and that is one less desperately needed point. Detroit seems to be determined to miss the playoffs even though they appeared to be a lock a week ago. LA is trying to get into their seemingly favored last wildcard spot.

Rangers and the Ducks appear to be raving to the end for the President's trophy (which means nothing compared to wining the Cup). And in about a week the second season starts.

Michael (Habs have been playing poorly for the last few weeks)

I could the pens fucking up tonight. They aren't nearly the team they had been the last few years. Who knows though, they may be just holding back.

We probably should start a playoffs thread. This one is still pretty short, though

At least we can finally put that awful Leafs season behind us. How does Toronto still have any fans left playing that caliber of hockey?! Let alone ones that are willing to pay several hundred dollars for crap seats.

this kinda amazed me:

Dreger just mentioned on Leafs Lunch that the Detroit Red Wings offered Brendan Smith, Stephen Weiss and Teemu Pulkkinen for Dion Phaneuf at the deadline.

So the Leaf's turned that deal down, and ended up with a bitter Phaneuf? sheesh
