U.S. oil prices fell to a 17-month low Wednesday after Saudi Arabia announced price cuts, with November futures on West Texas Intermediate crude, the U.S. benchmark, settling at $90.73 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Many experts expect prices to fall further still amid sluggish demand and bulging supply. But Dan Dicker, president of money manager MercBloc and author of "Oil's Endless Bid," isn't one of them.

Dicker sees plenty of constraints on output. That includes sanctions against Russia, violence in Iraq, turmoil in Libya and a possible Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.


Lower-than-expected production "is going to translate into a much higher price for oil," he said. "Over the course of the next two years, I see oil going to at least $125 on its way to $140."

How do you force a company/corporation/industry to lower its prices? The only ways I know of to regulate/force prices to where you envision they should be is either the government takes control of said companies/corps/industries and controls pricing that way (a la Venezuela) or put price controls in place. Neither works too well.

But Dave simply refuses to address this, instead hiding behind his mommie's skirts as he lobs profanities and attacks on anyone who dares question him. It's really sad.

Sounds like this Dicker dick is highly invested in oil and loosing his ass with the price drop so he's trying to drive the price up so he can sell his stocks at a profit. If oil production in the US continues to maintain it's current levels or increase, I seriously doubt oil will hit $125 a barrel much less his claim of $140 a barrel. In a way his predictions sound a lot like McOwned which is why he just had to post it in the thread..

What natural gas supplies mean for your winter heating bill



"It is now looking almost certain that stocks of natural gas in the U.S. will be significantly lower than the five-year average" when temperatures begin falling in November," said Tom Pugh, commodities economist for Capital Economics.


"Another cold winter, combined with lower stocks than last year, could lead to even higher price spikes than last year."

Prices are also expected to vary widely from one part of the country to the next.

But despite record production, natural gas storage levels are still below their five-year range heading into the winter heating season.

One of the biggest new gas fields—the Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania—produces about 13 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day—or about 18 percent of total U.S. supply. Just four years ago, it was producing just the 2 billion cubic feet a day.

Thanks to the ongoing booming in new drilling techniques like hydraulic fracturing—or "fracking"—U.S.natural gas production is expected to continue growing. The EIA forecasts a 5.3 percent increase in 2014 and another 2.1 percent in 2015.
