Paid 2.74@gal at the Belfair, WA Safeway for DIESEL. 3.15 @gal - .40 @gal discount card. Lowest in state at time of purchase according to Gasbuddy.

Paid $2.97 at the expensive gas station on the corner of the freeway here in Detroit. Cheapest I've seen it in years.

I wonder when this downturn will result in the completely expected upturn - since anything that goes down like this is bound to go back up somewhat.

Yesterday.

And I get a 4% cash back on top of that. Membership fees are nullified since I make all of it back (and then some) in my total cash back on my Amex.

Oil fell over 2% today to $76.80 a barrel. No reason for gas not to continue to fall.

Yes because there is an unlimited supply and we have developed alternative fuels..
I saw suv sales are up recently. So obviously people are of the same mindset as you. Good I'll be looking for a cheap truck in a year from now when prices skyrocket just like last time.

Got a 15 cent jump here instead of the normal 30 cent jump. Stations around me made it all the way down to $2.84 and now back to $2.99

Oil Below $80: The First Shoes Drop

We’re beginning to see the effects that the low oil prices of the past few months is having on America’s domestic energy boom. On Thursday, ConocoPhillips became the first major producer to announce it plans to scale back drilling in some of the hottest U.S. oil plays, such as the Rocky Mountains and the Permian Basin of West Texas.

Meanwhile, Shell said it plans to cut spending and eliminate jobs in its U.S. operations because of weak results from its shale projects. Shell cited the Eagle Ford play in South Texas, one of the country’s hottest drilling prospects, as an area it hopes to exit.

The new suvs get quite reasonable mileage. I have never gotten less than 25.2 mpg in the slightly more than 8000 miles I've driven my diesel grande cherokee.

They've been making a hard push for MPG the last couple of years. My Civic right now is 26/34 for a 140hp 4 banger. My BMW 4 series will have 23/35 in a 240hp twin turbo 4 banger.

I was in Ohio this past weekend, and gas was under $2.50/gallon.

Back in California today, and filled up at $2.99/gallon. It's been a long time since I paid under $3 in California.

Well, now.....this explains a lot:

When I was hit by lightning in the beginning of the summer and went flying across the patio my head landed on the AC unit and it moved back around 3 inches. If it didn't give I could've been hurt pretty bad.

LOL, yup.

I never said anything about that or longer term, just short term prices for today (and the last few month's trend of going down). Not sure what's so hard to understand...oil goes down and gas prices 'usually' follow (at least short term).

Local Exxon station hit $2.50 today. Thought it was as low as it could get, but I see I was incorrect.

How high will Gas go once America is 100% dependent on the Sand Thugs once again?

As Oil Plunges Further, Why It Might Be 'Game Over' For The Fracking Boom

The price of oil fell some more on Tuesday, down as low as $75.84 before closing at $77 a barrel.

If prices don’t recover soon this could be the beginning of the end of the Great American oil fracking boom.

The decline is blamed on Saudi Arabia cutting prices rather than cutting output amid signs of global glut.

So wait, you're mad when oil prices are high and you're mad when oil prices are low.

Can you give me a price of oil that would make you happy?
